THERE IS NO SACRIFICE FOR PRACTICING SIN WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH

Greetings precious children of God and welcome back to this engaging, instructive, empowering study of the Book of First John. As I am sure you know, we are nearing the end of this particular Book. As you know the Apostle John, the Apostle of love wrote (by the unction of the Holy Spirit) the Gospel of John, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John (collectively called the little Johns), and the Book of Revelation. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today.
1 John 5:14-18 (KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Again, today I will pick up the “sin unto death” otherwise known as the “unpardonable sin”. Rejecting salvation, the Blood of Jesus, the Blood Covenant being offered is the unforgiveable sin or sin unto death for it is the polar opposite of accepting and receiving this wonderful salvation. Now, let’s return to the passage we left off with on the 4th of April.
Hebrews 10:25-28 (KJV)
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Have you noticed how closely command to not forsake assembling together is tied to is willful sin, and dying without mercy? Dear ones, I don’t think we take the Lord and His Word near seriously enough. As I am winding down for today let’s consider the following verse. However, let me point out that it would us all well to read the entire chapter up to this point.
Jeremiah 7:16 (NASB)
16 “As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear you.
Prior to this verse there are many things mentioned that many if not all in the Church would deny as being present in themselves or perhaps even those around them. Then why is it repeated over and over in the Old and New Testaments? If today and the 4th of April have not driven you to your prayer closet, ask yourself why.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
