WHAT DOES THE FOURTH DAY OF CREATION HAVE TO DO WITH ETERNAL LIFE?

Greetings to all and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the Bible Book of 1st John. What a wonderful Book and how blessed we are to have the light of Scripture. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today reading out loud.
1 John 5:9-13 (KJV)
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Let’s pickup with verse eleven of our primary Bible text today. Eternal life comes through Christ Jesus and none other.
John 1:1-5 (NASB)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
This passage pretty much tells us the role of this man, this God, called Jesus in all related to creation our having access to eternal life. Living like God gives light to other peoples we are told in verse four above. As some of you know I enjoy looking at Biblical Numerology and the fact that this verse is verse four is illuminating. Look at the fourth day of creation which speaks of light and Jesus the light of men and us as light upon the earth. Eternal life is found in Christ and Christ alone.
John 3:34-36 (NASB)
34 “For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.
35 “The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.
36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Did you notice the final verse of our primary text for today? The love Apostle is talking about believing on the name.
1 John 5:13
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
That name is above every name and is our Power of Attorney to accomplish all the will of God.
Colossians 3:17 (KJV)
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
