LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

Greetings dear saints and pre-saints and welcome back to this exciting Bible study of the Prophetic and instructive Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good to give us a light for His path for us.
Psalm 119:104-106 (KJV)
104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
He does not come and walk with us; we must choose to join Him on the path He has prepared for us.

Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 55:10-13 (KJV)
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
The Word of God is just so wonderful dear ones. As we end the week with regard to our study of Isaiah, I believe the Lord would have us examine the following passage to gain further insight to the importance of peace. As we read down through this passage notice in verse thirteen, we see “forgiving” and then in verse fourteen that “charity” which is agapē (love) is “above all”. Agapē is all about obedience to the Word of God. Might we conclude that unforgiveness and a lack of love will directly affect the expression of peace in our lives? If we are having trouble with having peace these are two prime areas to examine with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Jeremiah 17:9-10 (KJV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Then we come to the idea of “peace” ruling in our hearts.
Colossians 3:12-17 (KJV)
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
