JOY AND PEACE
Video link: https://youtu.be/svxtMI4ITOI
Greetings dear saints and pre-saints and welcome back to this exciting Bible study of the Prophetic and instructive Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good to give us a light for His path for us. He does not come and walk with us; we must choose to join Him on the path He has prepared for us.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for valuing this teaching enough to share.
The picture today featuring ducks on a river in Pittsfield, Maine was provided by our good friend and faithful man of God Joe Getchell Jr.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 55:10-13 (KJV)
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Again, today I will pick up with verse twelve of our primary Bible text. Interestingly the number twelve in Biblical Numerology has to do with the perfect government of God. When we are in joy and peace, we are functioning in our God given authority over the evil forces determined to bring the curse into our lives. Now let’s review the meaning of the Hebrew word transliterated to English as “joy” in our text. The word joy in our text is a feminine noun meaning joy, rejoicing, gladness, pleasure. It refers to the reality, the experience and manifestation of joy and gladness. It refers to a celebration of something with joyful and cheerful activities according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament.
One tool we can use when we are properly dividing the Truth is to look at the number and gender of a given word. In this case the word “joy” is a noun indicating it is not just something they have but something they are. Recall that joy is a fruit of the quickened spirit man. It is as much a part of us as any other part of us. How well developed our joy may be is our decision. You have no doubt also noticed that the word “joy” is feminine in gender. Being feminine means that it reproduces with the proper seed (Word of God) and is beneficial not just for us, the producer of joy, but those in whom we have to do. Just as other emotions or states of mind are contagious so is joy.
As we push forward in verse twelve notice the phrase “be led forth with peace”. I have talked about Bible peace many times but I don’t think we can talk about it too much for it is far more than a tranquil feeling. The following is the transliteration of this word from Hebrew to English. The word is a masculine noun meaning to be safe, well, happy, friendly, in health, having prosperity, and all is well according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Notice this word is masculine and therefore does not have the same benefit of contagion for those around us. Not one bit of curse when led by peace, our peace in communion with His. Is there anyone that does not want to be safe no matter how things look in the natural, or healthy, or prosperous in every way? Love, obedience to the Word is the key.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good, nothing but good, and He cannot lie. People can lie even when they believe they are imparting the Truth. Prove all things dear ones.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
