THE WILDERNESS AND DESERT WILL REJOICE

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in the Lord and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. The next 360 days can be the best days you or I have ever had or we can have the same o same o. What will I choose, what will you choose? Yes, it is up to you and me. The whole of the Kingdom of God is ours for the taking, we are participants in common (joint-heirs) with Christ Jesus and the Father of all things (spiritual and physical). Please take a moment to share this teaching today by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today was taken of Donna and me at Celebrate Jesus Church of God on a recent trip to Maine. It was so good to worship and visit with wonderful friends and saints of God. Please continue to read out loud (you know why).
Prayer Nugget: A few weeks ago in prayer, my eyes came upon the following verse.
Romans 8:37 (KJV)
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
First just a little Bible Numerology for this reference. Romans is the sixth book of the New Testament and six is the number of man. Eight is the number for a new beginning. And, thirty-seven is the number for the Word of God. Just like in the Garden of Eden man has a fresh start due to the Cross and Resurrection. I asked myself as I have many times before, what about this phrase “more than conquerors”. Recently we had been listening to some teaching about occupying, that the conquering was accomplished by Jesus at Calvary, in Hell, and in the Resurrection. We are not called to conquer but to occupy, enforce the victory. An example of this would be how the United States occupied Japan and Germany after conquering them in World War II.
Colossians 2:15 (KJV)
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Occupy means to fill, exist in, or use a place for a period of time. Here is the command to occupy.
Luke 19:13 (KJV)
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
It does not say to conquer until I come but occupy till I come. What will our occupation in the earth look like?
Isaiah 61:4 (KJV)
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Now let’s turn our attention to the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah and continue reading out loud. Now our Bible text seems to be taking a turn to prophesying about the coming Messiah, what we call Messianic text.
Isaiah 35:1-4 (TLB)
1 Even the wilderness and desert will rejoice in those days; the desert will blossom with flowers.
2 Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the Lebanon mountains, as lovely as Mount Carmel’s pastures and Sharon’s meadows; for the Lord will display his glory there, the excellency of our God.
3 With this news bring cheer to all discouraged ones.
4 Encourage those who are afraid. Tell them, “Be strong, fear not, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.”
The text presented today could be referring to the Millennial Reign of Christ but as we will see in subsequent verses, they are clearly Messianic. Focus for just a moment on verse four and the phrase “God is coming to destroy your enemies” then consider the following verses.
Colossians 2:15 (KJV)
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
1 John 3:8 (KJV)
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Remember we are positioned far above all in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:21 (KJV)
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
By: Dr. David R. Wood, Author, Bible Teacher, and Prophetic Voice, Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
