THE WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Thursday – October 12, 2017

I left off yesterday talking about the original intent and the “first principles of the oracles of God”. I reviewed the Scriptures from Genesis that laid the foundation for Adam and for all persons who worship God to stand upon and carry out. Adam by sin forfeited eternal life, abdicated their God given authority to Satan, and were no longer able to retain the Power (Holy Spirit/Blessing) of God. Thank the Lord, Jesus got it all back and more but first let us review our primary text from the wonderful Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 5:9-14 (KJV)
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
In verse twelve we find the word “oracles” which is not commonly used today. The simple Greek meaning is utterance or Words spoken by God to man and the devil as well. If we look at the word “oracles” in the Thesaurus we find the following synonyms: prophecies, revelations, forewarnings, answers, truths, and foreshadowing. Types and shadows are a foreshadowing. Let’s look first at the Scriptures which certify to us that all of God’s original intent has been restored and more. I will then come back to the milk drinkers and meat eaters.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The word “power” in verse eighteen is authority, the equivalent of dominion in the Hebrew. Jesus says I have regained all of the authority, the dominion, that was forfeited in the Garden. Jesus said, I have all authority in Heaven and earth. How much authority would all authority be? He promptly hands that authority back to mankind (those who believe on the name of Jesus), and tells them to get about (get back to) the business of the Kingdom. We are ordained of God to teach and those who accept Jesus as Lord are to be baptized, immersed fully into the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This is not talking about water baptism but full immersion into the image and likeness of God becoming more and more like Jesus day by day. As we move into verse twenty we find Jesus telling us to teach all peoples to observe all that He has commanded. This observing is not talking about looking at but doing. He ends with, you must do it but I will be right there with you. If you are waiting for Jesus to show up and do something that you have not already commanded (decreed) or interceded for, you know what might freeze over first. Now, what about the Blessing, the Power?
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
A true witness is not the fella handing out tracts or on the corner preaching but the one doing the things that Jesus did and the greater things (John 14:12). Just so there is minimal confusion about the Holy Spirit and the Blessing review the following.
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The curse of the law is the law of sin and death that we see God warned Adam against and then played out when they sinned. The preceding Scripture we can see that Jesus took the curse for us, if we hold onto the curse (poverty, sickness, etc) this is a slap in the face and rejection of the most precious Blood ever spilled. The Blessing has come upon us, upon those filled and overflowing with the Holy Spirit. Remember Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit would not only be with them but in them to overflowing. This all happens by faith, of course powered by love which is obedience to the Word of God, and led of the Spirit. In Christ Jesus we are more than conquerors!
Romans 8:37 (KJV)
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Hallelujah! (Praise the Lord most vehement) I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
