THOU WORM

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to keep His people fully informed if they will but look at His Book and study. As we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are important to us and to the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today was taken by Marilyn Stevens of a fall scene featuring a Church. Marilyn takes and posts many beautiful, even stunning, pictures on Facebook. This picture is to remind us of our obligation to pray for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Colossians 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Let us continually remind ourselves to pray for those in our group, our Church, and the body of Christ at large. God needs our voice. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 41:13-17 (KJV)
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
You will recall that God is talking to His people, not the devils’ people, through His Prophet Isaiah. His people have fallen to a very low estate (place). God offers to take their hand, with their hand in His there is no foe that can ever stand before them, the same is true for us. As He offers His Hand, He gives a command “Fear not” followed by the reassurance “I will help you”. Do we believe this, did they believe this? Are we fully persuaded? Or do we have more faith in the mountain before us or threatened? Whose words do we fully trust? The answer to that is uncomfortable but fully visible for all to see. Jesus said we will know them by their fruit, fruit is what we produce in accordance with what we believe, what we have faith in.
Luke 6:45 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
We may not think we are evil but if we are thinking and speaking things contrary to the Word of God, He calls that evil. Talk to Him about it, not me. Remember this verse.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Whenever we become aware that fear is present, it is an evil spirit, we are to resist fear in the name of Jesus and quote this verse casting him away. Next God, the Prophet, refers to His people as worms. Let’s look at the word “worm” for a clearer understanding of what is being said. This word points out the low character and estate of a person. It is a masculine noun meaning crimson, purple, scarlet. It refers to the color of one’s sins that stands out in a shocking way, however, God can make sins white, cleanse them away, according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. We were all there at one time, now we are cleansed and white as snow by the Blood of Jesus.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here on Thursday, tomorrow is the beginning of the Feast of Passover.
