TRUST IN THE LORD ALWAYS

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Remember, all Scripture is given as an example and for our learning. If we will study and do, we can avoid the disasters of those who have gone before us and we can rise to heights beyond those who have gone before us as well. There is no ceiling in God so let us not limit our thinking to that of Job, Abraham, Solomon, or even Jesus. The only ceiling in our life is the one we ourselves impose. The devils will tell us day and night we are worms in the dirt destined to suffer until Jesus comes or they (devils by way of our thoughts and mouth) get the door open far enough to kill us. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The beautiful picture today was provided by our good friend and man of God Joe Getchell Jr. Thank you, Joe, for your faithfulness to the Lord, to the work of the Kingdom, and providing these beautiful pictures.
As I was preparing to write this morning, I saw a headline that read “Descent into Darkness” with a picture of wind turbines and President Biden. The article was about energy in the United States and its vulnerability due to the transition away from fossil fuels. As I was looking at that picture, topic, what came up in my spirit was that the descent into spiritual darkness has preceded the descent into physical darkness. Spiritual darkness has been increasing for decades, about a hundred years, and the devils have convinced the Church at large that they are helpless. They say it is just the way it is and will get worse until the end. Really? Is that Scripture? Remember, when the children of Israel came out of Egypt and came to the borders of the Promised Land those same devils lied to them as well and they did not, could not enter. We, the Church at large, have not entered our Promised Land either. Our Promised Land is every last promise in the Book! My Bible tells me these promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. How long will we be slack?
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Scripture text for today continuing to read out loud. You are reading out loud, right? Our text is in The Living Bible translation.
Isaiah 26:3-8 (TLB)
3 He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!
4 Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength.
5 He humbles the proud and brings the haughty city to the dust; its walls come crashing down.
6 He presents it to the poor and needy for their use.
7 But for good men the path is not uphill and rough! God does not give them a rough and treacherous path, but smooths the road before them.
8 O Lord, we love to do your will! Our hearts’ desire is to glorify your name.
Are you, am I, in perfect peace? This word ‘peace’ is shālôm meaning to be safe, well, happy, friendly, in health, prosperity, and peace (tranquil) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. I have heard some describe this peace as nothing missing and nothing broken. So, if we are not in “perfect peace” what does that tell us? It tells us (don’t get mad at me, I didn’t write this) that we really do not trust God and we are not focused on Him and His Word. Really, children, this is very simple. Unfortunately, we trust what we see around us more than the Word of God. Think about Peter, so long as he focused on Jesus and the word “come” he was engulfed in the supernatural but when he turned to the natural, he was engulfed by the natural.
As we move into verse four let’s focus on the word, always. So, how much time are we to trust the Lord and how much time are we to trust others or things? The King James Version says “for ever”. There is the idea of being continuous, without a break. Is God unjust? Would God, our kind Heavenly Father, tell us to do something it is not possible for us to do? God is not unjust and whatever He has commanded us to do, as in this case, He has well equipped us to do. Of course, we must do it His way. We see here that unbroken trust in the Lord brings His strength into our lives. What do you suppose His strength cannot handle?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
