HE HUMBLES THE PROUD

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Remember, all Scripture is given as an example and for our learning. If we will study and do, we can avoid the disasters of those who have gone before us and we can rise to heights beyond those who have gone before us as well. There is no ceiling in God so let us not limit our thinking to that of Job, Abraham, Solomon, or even Jesus. The only ceiling in our life is the one we ourselves impose. The devils will tell us day and night we are worms in the dirt destined to suffer until Jesus comes or they (devils by way of our thoughts and mouth) get the door open far enough to kill us. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The beautiful picture today was provided by our good friend and woman of God Kathy French. Thank you, Kathy, for your faithfulness to the Lord, to the work of the Kingdom, and for this beautiful picture.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Scripture text for today from the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue to read out loud. You are reading out loud, right? Our text is in The Living Bible translation.
Isaiah 26:3-8 (TLB)
3 He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!
4 Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength.
5 He humbles the proud and brings the haughty city to the dust; its walls come crashing down.
6 He presents it to the poor and needy for their use.
7 But for good men the path is not uphill and rough! God does not give them a rough and treacherous path, but smooths the road before them.
8 O Lord, we love to do your will! Our hearts’ desire is to glorify your name.
As you know I left off yesterday in verse four and speaking of the promise of God’s everlasting strength. Is there anyone that does not think this could provide an overwhelming advantage for us? This being the case, why don’t we trust God with a whole heart? We have to answer these questions for ourselves but I can tell you that in one way or another it will boil down to unbelief. The strength of the Lord does not just show up because we are born again. This supernatural strength of the Lord shows up when He sees that our heart trusts Him fully. When we do our part, we always have a part, our loving God is faithful to do His part. Let’s take a look at this word “trust” in the Hebrew. It is the word transliterated as bāṭaḥ which is a verb indicating to trust, to be confident, it expresses the feeling of safety and security that is felt when one can rely on someone or something else according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. Now, let’s take a moment to look at another Scripture that has to do with God’s strength on our behalf.
Nehemiah 8:10 (TLB)
10 it is a time to celebrate with a hearty meal and to send presents to those in need, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. You must not be dejected and sad!”
If you are familiar with this verse, you will recall that the people of God had gotten away from His Word, perhaps they had a form of Godliness but no power. The scribes, priests, and prophets of that time taught the people the Word of God, they repented, which brought joy to the Lord. This joy of the Lord released His strength on their (and our) behalf. Dear ones there is no place for us to compromise the Word of God. When we do compromise the Word of God, the Lord has to stand back. I for one don’t want the Lord to stand back, I want Him knee deep (so to speak) in my affairs. So, what are some of the things we might see when the strength of the Lord is released on our behalf? Well, look at the next two verses.
Isaiah 26:5-6 (TLB)
5 He humbles the proud and brings the haughty city to the dust; its walls come crashing down.
6 He presents it to the poor and needy for their use.
This has to do with converting the illegal possessions of the wicked that legally belongs to the house of God. This is commonly referred to as the wealth transfer from Satan’s kingdom to the rightful owners in the Kingdom of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
