Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and our continuing reflection upon the question; What Should The Church Look Like? This study has been persistent in my thoughts for several months right along with questions about the feminization of the Church. I have already published my thoughts, Scripture thoughts, on the feminization of the Church. That study was published on the 5th of January 2025 under the title “The Seed of Satan is Flourishing in the Church”. As I talked to the Lord about this question of what the Church should look like, His response was, like The Tabernacle in the wilderness. This is a multipart study, so let’s dive in.
Yesterday we left off speaking about Jesus, the Door, the only Way to the Father, and that is where I will resume today. The gate has two doors each of ten cubits for a total of twenty cubits. Ten is the number for law and responsibility. We must choose to enter this gate; it is our responsibility. When we choose to enter this gate, it is His responsibility to give us salvation. Two is the number of Jesus, and the number of union, union with Him.
John 14:19-21 (KJV)
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Isn’t it interesting that the gate is twenty cubits and the key verse for our purposes in the preceding passage is number twenty. Twenty is the number of redemption. The distance from the gates to the north and south walls were 15 cubits each for a total of thirty cubits. Thirty is the number of the Blood of Jesus.
Matthew 27:3 (KJV)
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
Silver is transactional, that is, it can be exchanged for something else. In a way, those thirty pieces of silver purchased salvation. As an aside. Judas came to understand he had condemned an innocent man who was also the Messiah and knowing he was condemned repented. Could it be that Judas, in spite of this awful act, is in Heaven today? Meditate upon it knowing that suicide is not automatic condemnation to Hell in every case.
The gates are five cubits high, five is the number of grace. Don’t you just see Jesus all over this! Are you visually seeing and hearing these things consistently as the core teachings at your Church? Seeing can be encouraging and promote hope but hearing the Word (Romans 10:17) is the way, the only way to build faith. It is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).
What is next upon entering the courtyard of the Tabernacle? We come to the Bronze Alter, the altar of sacrifice. Today that would be the empty Cross where the Lamb of God, the eternal sacrifice bled and died for all. The altar in the Tabernacle was made of bronze. Bronze is an alloy, a mixture of metals, representing sin and judgment. Just as sin brings judgment or justice so does righteousness bring judgment and justice. Remember the Scripture, the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Now we come to the bronze laver. This is a bronze basin filled with water. The priests would wash their hands and feet before entering the Holy Place. The bronze represents sin and judgment and the water the Word of God. The Word of God is incorruptible seed that saves and cleanses us.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Ephesians 5:25-27 (KJV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Of course that is the Word we receive, believe, and implement (make part of our thinking, speaking, and doing). The incorruptible Seed is the Word of God who is Jesus.
TAKE HOME:
- The resurrection of Jesus is our assurance of eternal life, of the restitution of all things. Because He lives, we shall life also.
- The Tabernacle speaks of the return of Grace into the lives of the children of God. The Grace of God is the Power of God helping us with all things pertaining to the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
- The Tabernacle reminds of sin and judgment highlighting the need for a Redeemer, a Savior, all the while pointing out that He was on the way.
- Water represents the Word of God, who is Jesus, the Word transforms us from the image of Satan, of the world to the image of Jesus, of God.
Lord willing, I will resume right here Monday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
