Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and our continuing reflection upon the question; What Should The Church Look Like? This study has been persistent in my thoughts for several months right along with questions about the feminization of the Church. I have already published my thoughts, Scripture thoughts, on the feminization of the Church. That study was published on the 5th of January 2025 under the title “The Seed of Satan is Flourishing in the Church”. As I talked to the Lord about this question of what the Church should look like, His response was, like The Tabernacle in the wilderness. This is a multipart study, so let’s dive in.
The first “Church” per se was the Tabernacle erected in the wilderness after the children of Isreal were freed from the bondage of Egypt. Go ahead and review all that was involved with the making of the Tabernacle starting in Exodus chapter twenty-five and several chapter to follow. The people brought to much and Moses had to command them to stop giving.
Exodus 36:5-7 (KJV)
5 And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
When was the last time your Pastor stood up and told the congregation they had given too much and the offerings would be paused for a period of time? What has happened to Gods people? The answer is the poverty lie initiated by the Devil and fostered by people who needed a theology to explain their failure to enter the Promises of God! Get my book titled “Sacred Cows Among The Ekklesia” from Amazon.com or our website.
I did a cursory Google search of what the cost of the Tabernacle in the wilderness would cost in today’s dollars. The estimates are all over the place, but they range from forty plus million to one hundred forty million. Not pocket change. What about the Temple in Jerusalem called Salomons Temple? Here again, a Google search yielded numbers from hundreds of millions to three hundred billion. Pretty nice place wouldn’t you say? It is estimated that King David gave as much as twenty billion dollars toward the building of the Temple (1 Chronicles 29). You can find the giving of others including David’s mighty men in the same chapter and it was substantial to say the least. Look at the state of these men in the beginning.
1 Samuel 22:2 (KJV)
2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
These men became very powerful wealthy men with Anointed leadership. Is this going on today? Can you point to yourself or someone else in your Church? What has happened to the Church? Do we have a lesser Covenant than they?
Now, let’s change gears and look at the theological prophetic aspects of the Tabernacle. Remember the Tabernacle is all about Jesus, all about the Kingdom of God and righteousness. The Tabernacle is rectangular in shape with the north and south sides being 100 cubits or 150 feet each. A cubit is 18 inches or one- and one-half feet. One hundred is the number of the children of promise. Isaac was the first child of promise and through him came Jesus the Messiah then each of us in our time. The east and west ends were 50 cubits or 75 feet each. Fifty is the number of Jubilee which is when each person is returned to their family, their possessions, debts are cancelled, and their land is returned.
Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
TAKE HOME:
- Are the offering too large at your Church and the Pastor had to instruct the people not to bring anymore right now?
- When did wealth become a dirty word in Church? God wants us wealthy, really wealthy in the worlds goods and in Heavenly treasure. The key is focus. Are you carnally minded or spiritually minded, is your master money or is your Master Jesus?
- The Church is to be all about Jesus. Jesus is our Jubilee!
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
