WHO IS LIKE GOD?

Greetings dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries Inc. and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to our ongoing study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. What a ride! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with this beyond good, good news. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of the State of Kansas Statehouse reminding us to pray for all in authority not just those in government.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 (AMP)
1 FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
2 For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
3 For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,
The word “admonish” in the first verse is telling us that we are in the wrong if we are not doing this. Not only are we to use this template in praying for those in authority (the ones we like and the ones we don’t like) but we are to honor and obey them.
1 Peter 2:13-17 (KJV)
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
In recent time and even now many in the Church have confused the First Amendment of the United States for Scripture. As important as our Constitution is and much of it is based on Scripture, it is not Scripture. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 40:18-21 (AMP)
18 To whom then will you liken God? Or with what likeness will you compare Him?
19 The graven image! A workman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and casts silver chains for it.
20 He who is so impoverished that he has no offering or oblation or rich gift to give [to his god is constrained to make a wooden offering, an idol; so he] chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks out a skillful craftsman to carve and set up an image that will not totter or deteriorate.
21 [You worshipers of idols, you are without excuse.] Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? [These things ought to convince you of God’s omnipotence and of the folly of bowing to idols.] Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
You may recall that we ended last week with this ongoing comparison of nations with God and now various idols. Anyone with two neurons to rub together should know that relying on images made by our own hand are absolutely useless in the affairs of life. Even talking about other peoples, and nations in comparison to God is foolishness. It is foolishness for there is no comparison. Once again consider the following passage with regard to those who to turn to far inferior powers and useless, lifeless, absolutely powerless, man made gods.
Romans 1:20-22 (AMP)
20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],
21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.
22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools [professing to be smart, they made simpletons of themselves].
I will pick up right here tomorrow Lord willing.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
