WOE

Greetings precious children of God and welcome back to this empowering, for those who chose to be empowered, Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear ones to give us His Word that we not stumble in the dark unless we choose. We are freewill creations, always our choice. God (Father, Son, or Holy Spirit) although they could, they will not force anything at any time upon anyone. The devil cannot, it is always our choice to yield to his deceptions or not. And, other people cannot dictate our choices, our future, only we ourselves. Let us determine right now to make the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first (that means before all else). As we move forward, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to increase our reach with the good news. The featured picture today is from our granddaughter in law. We can see the rock, shear, seemingly unclimbable, but notice the light of hope in this bleak, barren place. Now let’s move to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 5:20-23 (KJV)
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
When I first started reading and studying this Scripture many years ago, I really did not know exactly what the word “woe” meant but instinctively knew it was not something good. I suspect you have had a similar thought. When we examine the word looking into the Hebrew or Greek, we find the same meaning which is alas, grief, pain, and crying out. In short, none of us should want any ‘woe’ in our lives. Let’s take a look at this 20th verse in the God’s Word Translation.
Isaiah 5:20 (GW)
20 How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter.
This is all part of sowing and reaping. When we sow cursing, we reap, guess what, the curse. Just think about it. Those who call evil good and good evil are calling God a liar. Just how smart it that? Now, as I am moving forward let me once again remind us all, God through the Prophet Isaiah is talking to His own people! He is talking to you and me dear ones. I know we piously say we are not perfect but inside we think we are pure as driven snow and the problems are with all “those other people”. Well dear ones most of us need to stay in front of the looking glass, get the beams out of our own eyes and love (agape) those around us with our mouths shut. We must think the best of people and bless them. We are not the judge. We must determine to be intercessors for all those around us, our circle of influence, and anyone the Lord brings us to intercede in their behalf.
Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
What if this man, this tree of righteousness, had not had an intercessor?
Luke 13:6-9 (KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
We all want mercy, forbearance, so let us pray it into the lives of those around us. We were all spiritually blind at one time and perhaps have significant blind areas to this day. Let us pray for one another that the wiles of Satan be exposed and the Lords marvelous light (Anointed revelatory Word) flow into all our lives.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
