Greetings dear saints and elect of God. Those of you that have been following this Ministry know that I just finished an extended study of 1st John and now we are moving into 2nd John. This canonized Bible Book was written by the Apostle John, one of the original twelve, it is thought between the years 85-95 AD. The Apostle John is the human vessel by inspiration of the Holy Spirit who wrote the Gospel of John, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, as well as the Book of Revelation. He was the Apostle of love (agapē/agapaō) not that we are not all called to walk in this love. If you are not sure about this, get my book: Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Be Love. With this in mind I find it more than interesting that he is the only one of the original twelve not to die a violent death.
WHAT WILL WE LEARN TODAY?
- Following salvation all of us have a responsibility to become elders in our group. This is not according to physical age but spiritual maturity.
- Each and every one of us are chosen were elected together with all in Christ Jesus by the Father.
- As an elect in the Kingdom of God we have a responsibility to be active as led of God in our calling in all seven of the eternal mandates or commands.
Without further ado let’s jump into the first verse of 2nd John.
2 John 1:1 (KJV)
1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
This first verse is jam packed with Truth that we must develop, understand, and implement personally. The use of the word “elder” does not seem to be talking about being old, or elderly. It seems to be referring to someone who is more spiritually mature. Someone having a higher rank spiritually and perhaps in the natural structure of the Church. This brings us to the phrase “the elect lady and her children”. What does it mean to be elect, specifically that she was “the elect lady”? Being elect has to do with being chosen or selected according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament. This word is derived from theGreek word suneklektós meaning elected together with according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament. How would one be chosen or elected by the Father to be in the Kingdom of God? By naming Jesus as Lord and entering the Kingdom of God. The Father by His Holy Spirit is calling everyone but only chooses those who will choose His Son. Jesus speaks of this in the following passage.
Matthew 22:11-14 (KJV)
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Finally, for today and this idea of being elect. This word elect is feminine in gender. This means it can reproduce given the proper seed and remember the proper seed for Kingdom of God results is always the Word of God. In the beginning God gave us seven eternal commands, four are in the following verse, and pertinent to our study today is being fruitful and multiplying. This would be spiritual and physical increase.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Lord willing, I will resume right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
