ARMOR OF GOD – PART THIRTY-FIVE
EVEN MORE ON SUBMITTING
Yes, even more about submitting today. Submission today is a foreign word to many and borders on be the equivalent to profanity to some. Greetings and welcome to the Friday series on “Gifts” currently laying a firm foundation for the discussion of The Armor of God. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible expanding the reach of this Ministry to the best news anyone, anywhere, at anytime has ever heard. Just who else is offering eternal life and an abundant life now and forever? How has it come to be that we are quick to accept eternal life, salvation, by believing on the name of Jesus, His shed Blood, and Resurrection, but we relegate everything associated with salvation to the “sweet by and by”?
As you may recall, last week the Lord challenged me in a time of prayer with the statement that we, His people, are reluctant to challenge our paradigms. Our paradigms are our patterns or ways of thinking, or things we have accepted as Truth. Why are we reluctant to challenge what we believe from time to time? Are we lazy (slothful, slack)? Hopefully we are all aware that Scripture tells us to let everything be established by two or three (different) witnesses (Deuteronomy 19:15, Matthew 18:16, 2 Corinthians 13:1). For example, the same time written twice in Moses’ writings or the Apostle Paul’s writings does not constitute two witnesses. Now, if we find the same thing in the writings of Moses and it is affirmed in an epistle written by the Apostle Paul, we have two witnesses. Could it be that our thoughts, words, and actions are contaminated with ungodly thoughts, words, and actions? Could any of this explain why our lives do not look like the life of the Master? Now let’s turn our attention to our primary text which we find on our way to our goal topic, The Armor of God.
Ephesians 5:22-26 (KJV)
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Are you reading aloud? As you know the Holy Spirit prevented (spoke to me and I obeyed) me from jumping right into a discussion of The Armor of God but instead into a discussion of the foundation necessary for the effective use of The Armor of God. If was and is never the intent or will of God for us to lose one and win one (maybe) in our conflicts with our spiritual enemies (which is daily). The devil and his cohorts are defeated, our job is to be aware of their wiles, deceptive methods, and resist them. Scripture says that if we will do that, they will flee from us (James 4:7). In order to be aware of their methods and resist we must know, receive, believe, not doubt, and implement the Scripture. Knowing, receiving, believing, not doubting, and implementing traditions and doctrines of demons has no effect on the enemy and leads to loss.
Now let’s focus in on our text and this Bible, God, idea of being submissive. This topic of being submissive is not popular but as we look at the space accorded it in Scripture in the mind of God it must be very important. We are told to be submissive to one another which is central or essential to a selfless lifestyle, and servanthood. Recall that, love (agape), the God kind of love, is obedience to Scripture, a selfless lifestyle, and walking in Blood Covenant. All too often in our relationships with each other, our spouse, and even God, we have way too much focus upon ourselves. Our focus or concern is not what God can do for us, what our husband or wife can do for us, or what our neighbor can do for us BUT what we can do for them.
As we study our primary text, we see that the Holy Spirit is leading the Apostle Paul to compare our submission one to another, and the submission of the wife to husband to be the same as the relationship between the Church (individually and corporately) and Jesus. Before I close for today, I want to make two observations. One is that God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) has never made us do anything. The second observation is that husbands are to love their wives in the same way as Christ (Jesus the Anointed One, and the Anointing) loves each member of the Church. The world does not teach this. Let us shed any vestiges of the devils perverted thoughts and think, speak, not doubt, and do the thoughts of God.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
