AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THEIR STINK SHALL COME UP

Greetings precious children of God the Father, brothers and sisters with Christ, and Helped of the Holy Spirit. Welcome back to our Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Well Christmas is behind us and the New Year just a few days ahead. We hope that all had a wonderful celebration commemorating the birth of the Messiah (Savior), Christ Jesus. The joy of that day, nor any other day for that matter except the day of our salvation, is not dependent upon the dinner or the gifts exchanged but upon the greatest gift of all, a Savior. The foods, the lingering leftovers, the gifts will soon be forgotten but our decisions concerning the Savior will impact us forever. As we approach this New Year, 2023 on the Gregorian Calendar, let’s ask ourselves if we spent our time in 2022 wisely. If we did not, and the Lord convicts us, and we can think of places we missed it, let’s repent and move into 2023 with new determination to do all the will of God of us. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing, the Lord bless you and keep you. The featured picture today is intended to depict the Prophet Isaiah. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 34:1-6 (KJV)
1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
As you will recall we have been examining which timeframe the Lord is addressing with our text. Yesterday we looked briefly at the Battle of Armageddon when Jesus physically returns to the earth. Although there are things that could apply, we are thinking more towards another time period which is the one we are examining briefly today. The things we are about to read are shouting ground even for me for we will see the end of this mess.
Revelation 20:7-12 (KJV)
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
This is at the end of the Millennial Reign (1000 year) of Christ during which Satan has been bound. One may wonder why the people of the earth would fall for Satan’s deceptions after having been ruled by Jesus Himself for a thousand years. How is this different than Adam and Eve? Not at all. Glance back to verse four of our primary text then read from 2nd Peter.
2 Peter 3:10-13 (KJV)
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Let me reiterate the question, how should we live?
Revelation 21:1-5 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Oh, what a day! We are closer than ever and we will be eye witnesses of it all. And the best news of all we are on the side of God, we will be in the armies behind the Lord, we will be in Heaven and in Jerusalem absolutely protected by God, and we will live in the new heaven and the new earth with our Father for ever and ever.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow, the last teaching from Isaiah for 2022.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
