I WILL HOLD YOUR RIGHT HAND

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to keep His people fully informed if they will but look at His Book and study. As we move forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are important to us and to the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today was taken by Marilyn Stevens of the dome of the State Capitol in Augusta Maine. Marilyn takes and posts many beautiful, even stunning, pictures on Facebook. This picture is to remind us of our obligation to pray for all in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 (YLT)
1 I exhort, then, first of all, there be made supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, for all men:
2 for kings, and all who are in authority, that a quiet and peaceable life we may lead in all piety and gravity,
3 for this is right and acceptable before God our Saviour,
The Lord has not only given us the command to pray for all in authority but to be subject (be subordinate to, to obey, according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary) too those in authority.
Romans 13:1-2 (KJV)
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Let us put the Word of God first in all things. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 41:13-17 (KJV)
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
You will recall that God is talking to His people, not the devils’ people, through His Prophet Isaiah. His people have fallen to a very low estate (place). I don’t know that I like the word fallen for to some it extent it at least implies an accidental event or something over which the one who fell had no control. Nobody at any time has fallen into sin, they chose sin. Now, they were no doubt in deep deception but none the less step by step the devil led them in such a way they chose things hitherto they would have refused. No one obeys or disobeys by accident; it is always a conscious choice. By the way there is no such thing as an accident. All so called accidents involve the leadership, the deception of demons, coupled with ignoring the Holy Spirit.
Now, we find the Lord saying: “I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand”. Have you thought about why He said the right hand specifically? Why not just say, I will hold your hand? Scripture is full of symbolism and that is one of the ways He hides His will from the enemy and reveals it to His people, those walking in the light. Do you recall the following passage?
1 Corinthians 2:7-10 (KJV)
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (Bold added for emphasis)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
How could they not know, the Prophets were speaking the plan of God from the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden? Understanding requires the presence of the Holy Spirit which we (the redeemed since Calvary) have and they (princes of this world) don’t! The right hand is the hand of power. They were powerless in their sin, their rebellion, turning to idols and other flesh but God is offering them, as He offers every sinner, His Hand, His Power. This will be clearer as we go forward in the text. Our little with His immeasurable Power has no rival.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, God is only good and He cannot lie.
