Greetings dear saints of God, brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to the study of the Bible Book of Jude. Please take a moment and share all of these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. I have been urging us to reflect upon 2023 and whether or not we did the will of God for our lives. Have you done that? If we truly love the Lord we have an obligation, a stewardship responsibility to use our time optimally.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (KJV)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
The word redeeming in this text has to do with the best use of time. We are to be vigilant and wise. The Word of God is Wisdom. We are to be on alert to prevent deception, traditions of men and doctrines of demons from our thinking. To be unwise is to not be vigilant and treat our Christian walk as part of our life, not our life. When we believe a lie, we do not know the will of God. Do we test all that we see and all that we hear as to if it is the Truth? As we come to understand the will of God are we quick to do it being both willing and obedient?
Isaiah 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
What is the condition of our heart as we go about the business of the Kingdom? Which verse applies to me, to you, nineteen or twenty? This Book of Jude deals with our faith, meaning not only believing but what we believe. It also deals with the much debated and toxic idea of once saved always saved.
Now, let’s delve into our primary Bible text in the Book of Jude. Be sure you are reading out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Jude 1:3-5 (KJV)
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
As we plunge into verse four, he informs us of what we already know, but also believe it is not present in our lives, which is that not all men (preachers) preach the Truth.
Jude 1:4 (AMP)
4 For certain men have crept in stealthily [gaining entrance secretly by a side door]. Their doom was predicted long ago, ungodly (impious, profane) persons who pervert the grace (the spiritual blessing and favor) of our God into lawlessness and wantonness and immorality, and disown and deny our sole Master and Lord, Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
These false men may not even believe they are false and certainly don’t announce that; “I will now teach you lies”. They will sound religious and most of what they teach will be the Truth but there is corruption that keeps one out of the Promised Land. These people lead us into a carnal lifestyle and to even disagree with the Lord Himself. Disagreeing is denying. A single Scripture may contain multiple Truths but they will not contradict another Scripture or contradict itself. The key to our life has to do with rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Peter 1:20 (KJV)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Let’s be sure we believe the Truth and not some clever deception which will keep us from living in the promises of God. All too many people are there and it breaks my heart and it seems that it was breaking Jude’s’ heart as well.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, Jesus is not only Savior but Lord, He is only good and cannot lie!
