Greetings dear and precious saints purchased by the incalculable Precious Blood of Jesus. Welcome back to our enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. I am puzzled by those of you who follow these teachings regularly yet don’t share?? If you’re just skating by and wondering who David Wood is don’t worry about it (don’t worry period). The picture today is of Donna and me at Church. And yes, I’m working on the belly. Also, never forget to pray for Israel, it is a command of our God (Psalm 122:6-9) not a holy suggestion.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:1-5 (NLT)
1 Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For this is what the LORD says: “When I sold you into exile,
I received no payment. Now I can redeem you without having to pay for you.”
4 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.
5 What is this?” asks the LORD. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.
I hope that I didn’t bring a confusion yesterday attempting to explain how God can know the future in time without interfering with our freewill. God does not interfere in anyone’s life even when He knows that they are headed into the fires of Hell. Everything in the Kingdom of God is by faith, whatever is not of faith is sin. Faith is being fully persuaded of the Word of God, there is no other option but what the Word says for you. That is not to say you can’t pick something else. The best life is to consistently pick Gods’ Word, His thoughts, His ways. That is not a life without challenge but will be a life of abundance and consistent victories over every challenge. Love, Godly love (agapē/agapaō) is not truly possible without a choice. We have to choose many times everyday if we will walk in the light or in the darkness. Godly love is obeying Scripture at its core, having a selfless lifestyle, and walking in Blood Covenant with God.
As I move forward to talk about this term Sovereign LORD let me point out that term does not exist in the word-for-word translations of Scripture only in the thought-for-thought translations. Here is the King James Version and Young’s Literal Translation, both word-for-word translations.
Isaiah 52:4 (KJV)
4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
Isaiah 52:4 (YLT)
4 For thus said the Lord Jehovah: `To Egypt My people went down at first to sojourn there, And Asshur–for nought he hath oppressed it.
Now, I want to define the word sovereign even though it is not used in the Scripture to describe God in the context it is used in religious circles. In religious circles the term is generally used to say that God has all authority, and power, and is controlling all the activities of the earth. Let me just make a blanket statement you have heard in my teachings over and over, we (mankind) have all authority and God has all Power. Our authority is delegated by God but nonetheless it is absolute. A sovereign is one with the highest authority and the power to back it up. One source sovereign means being the ultimate source of all power, authority, and everything that exists. Only God can make those claims; therefore, it’s God’s sovereignty that makes Him superior to all other gods and makes Him, and Him alone, worthy of worship. God delegated His authority to mankind in the beginning (Genesis 1:26) however retained the Power to enforce the man’s words in accordance with His will. Speaking with our authority in faith powered of love led of the Holy Spirit is always our part, and His part is to bring it to pass.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember the Lord loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about it.
