Friday – March 8, 2024, Adar Aleph 28, 5784
Greetings dear ones in Christ Jesus and welcome back to our study of 1st John. Please take a moment and share this teaching. O how fortunate we are to have the whole of the Holy Scriptures, what is called the Holy Bible. The Apostle John, the Apostle of love, did not have that, but he had three years with Jesus, and he had this.
John 14:26 (KJV)
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Do we have the Bible? Do we study (not just read) the Bible? How long have we been with Jesus? Do we have the Holy Spirit as our Teacher and the One to bring all things to our remembrance?
Before we move into our primary Bible text for today be sure you are continuing to read aloud, yes, out loud. If you are benefiting from this Ministry increasing in understanding, and building your faith and love please give prayerful consideration to becoming a financial and prayer partner. Also, don’t forget my recently updated book, Prophetic Voice in the Land, if you don’t have it already. It is available in softcover, e-book, and audible.

This may serve as a good study guide for those learning about Prophets and Prophecy and a good reminder for those versed in the topic.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our 1st John text continuing to read aloud, yes, out loud.
1 John 2:9-12 (KJV)
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
Last week with verse nine and learned that the word “hateth” is a strong action word and an idea and reality in our lives that must be avoided at all costs. As we enter verse ten, we find the contrast. Let’s really think about this verse for there is a very powerful promise associated with loving our brother. Let’s look to a definition of who is a brother. A brother. Adelphós generally denotes a fellowship of life based on identity of origin, members of the same family, members of the same tribe, countrymen, and so forth, one of the same nature, and members of the same Christian community are called brothers according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament. This word is used quite broadly but it would seem to apply to our family members, and other Christians, but can be applied more broadly to fellow citizens of the United States. Pretty much love all peoples, in and out of the Church. We have a good example.
John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now, let’s examine the word “loveth” in our text. This is the Greek word transliterated to English as agapaō according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. If you don’t have my book, Be Love available in softcover, eBook, and audible, get it now on Amazon.com/books. This is the verb form, meaning it involves action as opposed to agapē which is the noun form, describes who one is, like God is love, but God also loves. Likewise, we are love and love. Remember this God level love that only God and those who are His children can express is obedience to the Word of God, a selfless lifestyle, and living in the Blood Covenant. This a high call, but in Christ Jesus we are well able.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. All the glory goes to our God, who is only good and cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
