Greetings dear friends and saints of God. Welcome back to this encouraging and illuminating study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Those of you who follow this blog regularly know we have been mining treasure from this Book for over three years. The Lord is so good. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please continue to read out loud.
Isaiah 54:13-17 (ESV)
13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you.
16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy;
17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”
Today we are picking up with verse sixteen and it appears (emphasize appears) that God created Satan to be a destroyer. Is that true? As I understand it in the Hebrew if something is allowed it is no different than the doing of the thing. In this case Satan (Lucifer) was created perfect and made a choice that led to him becoming as evil as he was perfect before.
Ezekiel 28:13-15 (KJV)
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Here’s the thing, God created and made all spiritual creatures to have a freewill. A rabbit nor your rose bush are spiritual creatures or creations, they have a physical body and a lifeforce received of God. Angels (holy and fallen) are creations in the spiritual realm, they were not breathed into by God. With the exception of Lucifer (Ezekiel 28:13) they were not clothed by physical elements as we are (the dust of the ground). The spirit of man is the connector to God. Lucifer was not created or programed to fail, to sin, no more than Adam was made or programed by God to fail, to sin. There is no failure or sin in God. The decision to violate righteousness creates sin, and produces all the fruit of failure.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember God is faithful without exception, are we?
