THEY SHALL SURELY GATHER TOGETHER

Greetings dear friends and saints of God. Welcome back to this encouraging and illuminating study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Those of you who follow this blog regularly know we have been mining treasure from this Book for over three years. The Lord is so good. If you value these teachings, please take a moment and share them as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The beautiful picture was provided a couple of years ago by Joe Getchell Jr a wonderful man of God with an eye for a pretty picture. Thank you, Joe.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please continue to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 54:13-17 (ESV)
13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you.
16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy;
17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”
As we steam straight ahead into verse fifteen buoyed by the promises of the preceding verses let’s look at the KJV.
Isaiah 54:15 (KJV)
15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
Our enemies don’t want to see our kids saved and living in peace and they surely don’t want us out of their reach. Notice that when trouble comes to the man or woman of God described in this chapter it is never of God and they shall fall or fail in their deceptions. Remember the words (inspired of God) of the Apostle James concerning testing.
James 1:13-16 (KJV)
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
There is this terrible theology that all that happened to Job was God testing his loyalty, testing to see if Job really would worship Him if the good things in his life were removed. Our Heavenly Father is not a child abuser. Remember in the account of Job there was mention that he was protected by a hedge. There is only one person who can pull down the hedge and it isn’t God and it isn’t the devil. Guess who? You! As I end for today, I want you to think about a very important concept, reality. Imagine yourself as a city with an impenetrable wall around you. This wall has a variety of windows and doors (gates). You and I have 100% control over what comes through those windows and gates. Among other things these walls are maintained by joy, by reinforcements, by refusing fear and walking in love and faith, not allowing the shame of our past to override the Blood, and running gleefully into the wonderful future He has prepared.
Terrible things may be threatening outside these wall but we are under no obligation to let those things in. In fact, they can only enter by invitation. Fear flings the windows and doors wide open to the marauding evil. We can keep fear out or we can let fear in. Who do we have the most faith in? Do we trust the threats of the enemy more than the promises of God? Do we believe Jesus or a defeated enemy?
Luke 10:19 (KJV)
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Pay no undue attention to what is going on, threatening, outside the walls but continue straight ahead with our Kingdom of God work.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow, isn’t the Lord just so wonderful.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
