JUDE – PART THIRTY-FOUR
Greetings dear saints of God and all pre-saints of God and welcome back to this study of the Bible Book of Jude. This Book has to do with holding to the pure Truth. The Truth was being seriously corrupted before the end of the first century AD. That is not to say that the Truths of what we call the Old Testament had not been seriously corrupted by the time Jesus entered the earth. Many readers may be saying, not me, not my Church! Are you sure?
PLEASE READ: Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. We see your sharing as valuing the teaching. Also, please hit the appropriate emoji and make a brief comment even if it is only one word. This helps us get the Truth into more hands and hopefully hearts. Thank you! God is so good.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in this wonderful Book of Jude.
Jude 1:10-13 (KJV)
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
I will move forward with our review of verses prior to the text above and hopefully soon move into new territory. Let’s look at todays Scripture in the NIV.
Jude 1:7-9 (NIV)
7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
8 In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.
9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
In a similar way is referring back to the angels who rebelled and are held in chains awaiting judgment. This passage is very much like 2nd Peter the second chapter. If you have been in Church any length of time you are likely to have at least a passing knowledge of the account of Sodom and Gomorrah. Homosexuality and every sexual perversion were rampant. Sound familiar? These dream of evil perverted sexual things and then pollute their bodies with the act. Sounds like our day. Do you think God is unjust? If He brought judgement on that people, the whole cities, do we think we are somehow exempt? Certainly not every person in those cities were guilty of sexual perversion but they were accessories to the behavior allowing it to dominate and define them as a people. Do we see any rejection of authority going on in our time? Yes, it is everywhere including the Church. Listen to the following passage as I close for today.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Any of this sound familiar? This is where we are dear ones. Pay particular attention to 2 Timothy 3:5 and as we meditate the verse ask the Lord and ourselves what this means to us.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday. The Lord is good and He is nothing but good and just.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. The Lord is good and He cannot lie!

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
