Greetings dear and precious saints and those who will soon be saints and welcome back to this exciting study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we serve with willing hearts. When I look back at my days of rebellion, I think how foolish, but when the evil one has you in his grip you think sin and darkness are fun and desirable. Thank you, Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, for your mercy, compassion, and patience with me. The featured picture today is of a beautiful Church in West Virginia. The purpose of these Church pictures is to remind us to intercede for each other and the Church at large.
Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV)
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the instructive, Prophetic, and Messianic Bible Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Isn’t the Scripture just so exciting? This Book is just jam packed with the goodness of God. Discard all the trash religion feeds out about the will of God being unknowable, or perhaps you are appointed to poverty or some horrible disease of event. Don’t be caught in that deception of “we just don’t understand these things” and then conclude it with “but God is in control”. Throw out religion, traditions, and the doctrines of demons and walk in your relationship to the Father in Christ Jesus being helped by the Holy Spirit. In that place is nothing but overflowing of finance and health. Let us each one examine ourselves and find by the wisdom of God, why the curse is present in our lives. Sin is always the cause that allows the curse. Sometimes the sin is in plain sight but not recognized as sin. For example, do we speak things about ourselves and others that the Bible does not say?
Proverbs 4:24 (NKJV)
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
In verse two of our primary Bible text, we find the phrase “the day of vengeance of our God”, what is being talked about? The use of this term has more to do with the coming of justice by the Hand of God and not a human reaction to a perceived wrong. Let’s take a look at the meaning of the word “vengeance”. This Hebrew term refers to divine repayment and that God will redress the wrongs committed against His people according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. Let us be obediently mindful of the following passage.
Romans 12:17-21 (NKJV)
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
