Greetings dear and precious saints and those who will soon be saints and welcome back to this exciting study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we serve with willing hearts. When I look back at my days of rebellion, I think how foolish, but when the evil one has you in his grip you think sin and darkness are fun and desirable. Thank you, Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, for your mercy, compassion, and patience with me. The featured picture today is of a beautiful Church in Washington State. The purpose of these Church pictures is to remind us to intercede for each other and the Church at large.
Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV)
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the instructive, Prophetic, and Messianic Bible Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Are we telling people, including ourselves, that the Spirit of the Lord is upon you (those saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit) and this Anointing can turn poverty to riches. Just because you are living just fine with all bills paid does not mean you are in the will of God. If you do not have the excess to be generous on every occasion, we are fallen short of His will.
2 Corinthians 9:10-11 (NIV)
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
Is this ongoing in our lives or are things about the same as they have been over many years?
Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
Do we believe the Lord wants us rich or have we swallowed the unbelief of religion settling (compromising the Word) for the crumbs of the earth when the good things of the earth are already ours. We are to have the best now and later.
Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV)
19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
Are we willing to do the commands of the Lord? Are we obedient to do the commands of the Lord? Are we eating the good of the land? Our answers to these questions locate us spiritually as to if we are in the will of God or our own will.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
