LIFE IN HEAVEN – PART FOURTEEN
Saturday – July 28, 2018, Av 16, 5778

TIME FRAME FOUR
Genesis 3:6 to Hebrews 1:3
Thank you for returning to this Bible Study that should be reaffirming the hope of our calling, a return to sharing in the divine nature and all the wonders the Divine has, is, and will provide forever. Our home is Heaven just as that of our Father, our Savior, and our Teacher and Helper the Holy Spirit. We have been translated out of the kingdom and power of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son. Rejoice and again I say rejoice!
Colossians 1:12-14 (KJV)
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
When we finish rejoicing I will move forward with our study of “Life in Heaven”. Isn’t this just wonderful to think about?! Following Adam (mankind) choosing sin (Genesis 3:6) who was the first man to enter Heaven? The first man to enter Heaven is not the resurrected Jesus, it is Enoch. Until Jesus took care of the sin problem with His precious Blood men who loved (obeyed) God went into the Bosom of Abraham (even before Abraham). With God time is not an issue but faith is. The faith of Abraham provided for the legal process of blotting out sin. The faith of Abraham provided for the Old Covenant sealed with animal blood which could never take away sin to be superseded by the Blood of Jesus which took away the sins of the world. God is merciful and just and there was mercy and justice for those who died in faith before Abraham. Now, let’s turn our attention back to Enoch the seventh from Adam. Not a lot is written in recognized Canon Scripture about Enoch but we know for sure that he pleased God.
Genesis 5:21-24 (KJV)
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
An interesting aspect of this passage apart from the “God took him” part is the word “walked”. First be aware that the only people that God took into Heaven were alive intact peoples and include Enoch, Elijah, and Jesus. Of course, even these were taken with their permission. We are freewill creations and God will not violate that. All other persons are taken secondarily to either Heaven or Hell. When we (spirit man) separate from this natural life, natural body, either by the words of our mouth like Jacob, Jesus, and Stephen or by the curse (which we allowed) we are taken to either Heaven or Hell. The curse is allowed either by the words of our mouth or the lack of the words of our mouth. Now, back to the word “walked”. The primary meaning of this word is “to go”. Interesting, don’t you think? Enoch choose to go with God and God took him. You and I have chosen to go with God and one of these days when our assignment is done He will take us. Oh, what a day of wonder, transformation, and revelation!
Enoch became so much like God that God took him right into Heaven. Once in Heaven who would chose to return to the earth? The word God used here is the Triune God so Enoch was fellowshipping with the First person, the Second person, and the Third person of the Godhead. Enoch was apparently a man after God’s own heart, a forerunner of King David, and I pray you and me. Like King David, Enoch was a Prophet, God shared all of time with him.
Jude 1:14-15 (KJV)
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
The text above tells us that God showed Enoch not only the Second Coming (verse fourteen) but the great White Throne Judgment (verse fifteen). God will share anything with us if we will but spend time with Him and be open to hearing what He has to say. Do we close off or preclude the Words of God, that still small voice, by our traditions and the doctrines of demons? The writer of Hebrews also speaks of Enoch as well. Enoch made it into the Faith Hall of Fame!
Hebrews 11:5-6 (KJV)
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Lord willing, I will pick up here next Saturday. In the meantime, consider that Enoch is an intact man in Heaven before the Blood of Jesus was shed at Calvary. Was he somehow born again? How could that be? Until our next publication, confess the following passage and walk before Whom we have to do with great rejoicing and thanksgiving. This physical body is our humiliation but soon it will be no more for the glory of God and our eternal benefit.
Philippians 3:20-21 (MSG)
20 But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.
