THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART FOUR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome to our ongoing study titled “The Kingdom of God”. We are a blessed people to have the Word of God to guide our lives. As mentioned previously there are 163 references to the Kingdom in the New Testament. Contrary to what might be heard in many Churches Jesus primarily taught the Kingdom of God. In the Bible Book of Matthew, we see the term Kingdom of Heaven, don’t let that throw you off it is the same as the Kingdom of God. Once again let’s examine, and meditate, our anchor Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The Lord Jesus told us that the Kingdom of God was primarily not an external place but was within us. The Apostle Paul explained further that the Kingdom of God was not natural things but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. With the last two teachings have discussed the ideas, the realities of righteousness and peace.
Today I will delve into joy. This word in English as joy comes from the Greek χαρά and is transliterated to English as chara according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. and finally, to English as joy according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary meaning cheerfulness, calm delight, gladness, exceeding joy according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. The root word means to be cheerful (full of cheer), calmly happy, well-off (here’s that pesky prosperity thing again), joy (-fully), and to rejoice according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Are you joyful, full of joy, day in and day out, minute to minute? This describes someone who knows who they are and is walking fully in the Kingdom of God.
Now, I am going to move back to looking at God’s original intent for us, all of us. To find that we must go to the beginning, the Bible Book of Genesis. With many one might think the Bible does not start, at least for us, until the Book of John. That is far from the Truth. One will have far less light if they don’t have some understanding of what is commonly called the Old Testament. One day the Lord told me, I don’t mean I heard an audible voice but a distinct knowing within, that if I would understand the Book of Genesis, I could understand all things. Do you suppose that applies only to me? Did you notice the use of the word “would” when He spoke to me? The understanding of the Bible Book of Genesis was up to me, my choice, if I would make the effort He was give the light by His Holy Spirit. Now, to the beginning.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Notice that man, the first person, was made, not created like angels and other things of this creation. We were made in the image and likeness of God. Why? To function like God, like our Father, our maker. They (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) made us to have complete dominion (authority) over the earth but not God and not over other people. Wanting to be god, our own god, is demonic, it is acting like Lucifer and you may know that didn’t turn out well. Also, we are not to have dominion over other people. There are lines of authority in the natural and spiritual areas of our lives that we by freewill are to submit to them as they submit to God, and those under us who by freewill submit to us as we submit to God. That is a whole other study. Notice that God breathed of Himself into us.
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
The kingdom of God is within.
Until next time remember, the Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
