THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART EIGHTEEN
WHAT IS THE FRUIT OF YOUR LIFE?
IS YOUR LIFE MANIFEST THE BLESSING OR THE CURSE

Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this essential study of the Kingdom of God and repentance. Why is it essential? It is essential because this is what Jesus talked about most of the time. If it was important to Him, it is vital that we seek to understand every aspect of the Kingdom of God and repentance following in His footsteps. One might ask, why do you keep bringing up repentance. I keep bringing it up because Jesus did. There are many things in each of our lives that we believe to be the Truth and are not. Of those things we must repent. As we move forward let’s again review our anchor, Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Every time we see our anchor Scripture let’s ask ourselves if we are doing this and ask the Lord if we are doing this. As we move forward in our study of the Kingdom of God and repentance, we come to what should be a very sobering passage. A passage that should drive us to our knees before Him and cause us to examine if we believe the gospel of the Kingdom or are we pursuing another gospel, another Jesus. Please don’t be too quick to reject that out of hand, which is pride.
Matthew 7:20-23 (NKJV)
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
We often hear the admonition not to judge, you don’t know my heart. Yes and no. We have a clear indication of your heart by the fruit of your or my life. The will of the Father produces good fruit as defined by Scripture. All else is the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons which has no power to produce good Godly fruit. To get the full context let’s look at the verses preceding out text about who shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 7:14-19 (NKJV)
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Good fruit are the manifestations of the nine fruits of the spirit found in our spirit man. These will have physical manifestations in our own lives and the lives of those around us.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
TAKE HOME:
- Let’s examine ourselves, judge ourselves, to be sure that the fruits of the spirit are self-evident in our life.
- A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart (thought life) the mouth speaks and brings forth that fruit be it good or bad.
- Not everyone who says Jesus is their Lord. The fruit of their lives give them away. Saying Jesus is Lord but not following in His footsteps means you are lying.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here with our study of the Kingdom of God next Saturday. The Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, neither is the devil, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
