THE WICKED ARE SEVERED FROM THE JUST

Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and our ongoing study of the Kingdom of God and repentance. We have found that this was the predominate message that Jesus preached and taught. Jesus thought it was important then and had it recorded then might we treat it as important as well. Of course, the whole Bible one way or another is instruction for Kingdom of God living. Let us now go to our anchor or golden Scripture the Lord led us to use for this series of teachings.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
As we look at this verse, I want to remind us once again that it is a command from the lips of the Savior to them and us, it is a timeless command. You may have heard me say that there are no physical manifestations that do not have a spiritual root or source. This includes the health of your body, your checkbook, even the existence of the universes. Look at our anchor verse closely and you will see the principle that all natural manifestations have a spiritual root. Let us move forward in our pursuit of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and uncover its Truths.
Matthew 13:45-46 (KJV)
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
You perhaps have heard of those who were searching for the Truth and looked into all sorts of religions and then finally came upon Christianity. Perhaps that person was you. What was the Kingdom of God worth to this merchant man in the preceding text? What about you? Over and again, we are seeing that to obtain the Kingdom of God/Heaven in fulness takes a total commitment nothing held back. Do we understand that? Could that explain the lack of the promises of God in many Christians lives? In the following passage Jesus’ teaching takes a little turn back in the direction of the parable involving the wheat and tares.
Matthew 13:47-50 (KJV)
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Jesus tells us over and over that in His Kingdom reside both the wicked and the just or righteous. The wicked are among us. They look like us and act like us in many respects but have never really made Jesus Lord, they never got saved. These are Christians in appearance but are simply having a religious experience. These are very sobering passages in Scripture. Remember the following Scripture.
1 John 3:14-15 (KJV)
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
TAKE HOME:
- Let’s ask ourselves, do we love (agape) the brethren?
- We are in Church but are we of the wicked or the just?
- What is your commitment to the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?
