THE PUREST OF HUMILITY IS REQUIRED TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings dear saints of God and others and welcome back to our ongoing Bible Study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. This was the major theme of Jesus’ Ministry in the earth, and I have been instructed to teach this as well. We are so fortunate to not be left with no alternative to darkness but have an abundance of light if we will but seek it. Anyone can gather information from the Bible like any other book but only those who love the Lord and seek after Him with all their hearts will have the Scriptures opened to them. Now, let’s go to our anchor Scripture and kick off today’s teaching.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
As with every teaching let me again ask, do we see this as a command and are we doing it? This is not easy and is very contrary to our training in the world system and for the most part it is not taught in the Church. Many people are seeking after the natural things of life and as time allows, they seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This is the upside-down world of the curse of satanic deception. Continuing our study, we come to a very sobering passage as we examine it closely and reflect upon what is being said by our Lord.
Matthew 18:1-6 (KJV)
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
For increased clarity let’s see what Dr. Luke recorded for this same occasion.
Luke 9:46-48 (KJV)
46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
I think we can see from the context that pride and not humility was an issue with the disciples. They were jockeying for the highest place in the Kingdom of God. Pride can keep one out of the Kingdom of God. This is the primary sin of Lucifer and that didn’t work out well for him and a third of Heaven’s hosts. Listen to Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Let us emulate Jesus and get His results.
TAKE HOME:
- Embrace your Kingdom of God assignments with all humility, the assignment will be easy, it will be light and will allow our mind to be at rest.
- Watch for and resist pride of all kinds it can be spiritually and physically deadly, maintain a humble spirit but confident in Christ Jesus.
- Looking to be exalted by others is the way of the world not the way of the Kingdom of God. We submit ourselves to God and He will exalt us in His timing.
