BLOOD COVENANT REQUIRES ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD

Greetings dear saints of God and joint heirs with Christ Jesus. I will be continuing to teach from my book “Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Be Love” this week. The main impetus for this book was all the talk about love in Church and among God’s people. In my experience it is rare to hear any definition of what “love” is being discussed. Many times, when people are saying they “love” the Lord or that the Lord loves them they get this angelic look on the face and a faraway look in the eyes. Nothing wrong with that but that is a low-level love (not love at all), and that is not what my book is about nor these teachings. The book and these teachings are about Divine love (agapē/agapaō), the love that God has for us and the love we have for Him, our neighbor, and ourselves. This love resides in our spirit man and is the same love that God has albeit in baby form. This love is a fruit of our spirit. All nine fruit of our spirit are from God and identical to what God is and produces. We have work to do.
Last teaching I left off in the midst of teaching about Blood Covenant, Blood Covenant with God. There are ten major components or requirements of the Blood Covenant contract. Today I will pick up with requirement number seven. First, here is a list of the first six.
- A weaker party covenants with a stronger party.
- The Covenant establishes equality between the parties.
- The Blood Covenant is perpetual, it is eternal.
- A Blood Covenant is indissoluble.
- The Blood Covenant is honored in succeeding generations.
- Breaking this Covenant leads to death.
I will now pick up with the seventh requirement of the Blood Covenant Contract. This is also an obligation that I see transgressed very often.
- Blood covenant gives equal access to assets between the parties. We surely got the best part of this deal by far. God calls us possessors of Heaven and earth and joint heirs with Christ Jesus (Galatians 4:7). No separate bank accounts or any other assets boys and girls.
- The blood covenant provides for reciprocal (give in return) actions. Because Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac then the Heavenly Father had to be willing to sacrifice His son, Jesus (Genesis 22:12). As we walk in fidelity to our Covenant with God, He walks in fidelity to the Covenant with us and so it is in the marriage covenant.
- Blood covenant provides for mutual defense. When we are obedient to the Word, God provides an impenetrable defense for us and ours (Deuteronomy 28, Psalm 91, Hebrews 10:13). Husbands are to have their wives back and wives are to have their husbands’ backs at all times. No yakking about one another with others, other than God.
- This blood covenant requires a respect (honor) between the parties (1 Samuel 2:30 b). Our spouse should never be less in our eyes, it is sin.
The Blood Covenant is the foundation and the guidelines for our recognition and access to Scriptural love (agapē/agapaō), the very love of God Himself, even into His presence (Hebrews 10:19). One essential point about this Blood Covenant, and this love, is that for it to have full force one must be dead to self. In a marriage the husband is dead to his needs and wants but alive to those of the wife, and vice versa. Jesus (bridegroom) was dead to self and acted in line with the needs of His bride, the Church. Think about what Jesus said in the Garden of Gethsemane to the Father, not my will but yours be done (Luke 22:42).
Hebrews 9:17 (KJV)
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
This love (agapē/agapaō) originated with the Father and can only be exercised by God, and the sons and daughters of God. Those in the image and likeness of God, those of like kind, are the only ones with the capacity for this type of love. This love at its core is a selfless focus on God and secondarily our fellow man. We must be constantly mindful of our obligations to God and our fellow man under the Blood Covenant. This Blood Covenant with God requires our absolute obedience to the Word of God and His obedience to His own Words. As we do the Word, our faith will not fail, His faith will not fail, and we occupy the victory Jesus won in the Crucifixion, Hell, and His Resurrection.
TAKE HOME:

Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
