NOAH AND BLOOD

Welcome back to the trail of blood that started in Heaven and ends in Heaven. Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world and with His Resurrection He took His very own Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. In the mind, the reality of God, existence without time, the Redemption had already occurred when He breathed of Himself into the body of Adam. I will continue teaching today from my book, Awake, Arise, and Triumph, Book II, God’s Road to Redemption, chapter six. Yesterday we studied in part about Cain and Able and the Blood Covenant of the sin offering. Today we will pick up with Noah.
NOAH
We next cross the trail of blood following the flood in the time of Noah. God had made preparation for the sin offering that must be made upon exiting the Ark.
Genesis 7:2 (KJV)
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
Notice seven clean animals, seven is the number of spiritual perfection. These animals will be a sacrifice for the people. Noah and his family are in the Ark approximately one year.
Genesis 7:11 (KJV)
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
It is very interesting to me that sin was washed from the earth in the second month – the number two representing Jesus. Also, this happened on the seventeenth day of the month. Jesus arose on the seventeenth day of the month. The number seventeen represents victory. If you are watching, you will see the coming “Seed”, the Savior, and the Messiah everywhere. The next verse establishes the one-year span I referred to above.
The fourteenth verse in the following passage not only tells us about the progression of the physical aspects of the flood, but the spiritual to come. This verse tells us that Jesus (second month) will bring spiritual completion (the seven) and redemption (twentieth day) into the earth when the twenty and seven are viewed separately. The number twenty-seven has to do with the preaching of the gospel or good news. Certainly, redemption to spiritual perfection or completeness is good news. In addition, this is looking forward to the Messiah, the one who would shed eternal Blood for eternal redemption. Praise His holy name!
Genesis 8:13-14 (KJV)
13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. [2]
While we are looking at Bible Numerology, what about the numbers of the Genesis 8:14 verse. Genesis is the first book of the Bible and represents oneness with God. Eight is the number of new beginnings. Fourteen is the number of deliverance and salvation. Certainly, Noah and his family were delivered from the wrath of God just as Lot and his two daughters were, and we will be at the Rapture. This was a new beginning for that family due to Noah’s righteous standing with God. The first thing that Noah does on exiting the Ark is to make an offering unto the Lord. He remembers God!
Genesis 8:20-21 (KJV)
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
This was a sin offering and most likely a first fruit offering, since these animals had likely had offspring on board the Ark. Why was this burnt offering a sweet savor to the Lord? It atoned for sin, allowed ongoing communion, reminded Him that the day was coming when He would set aside sin forever; and mankind, His prize and joy, would be preserved forever in relationship and fellowship with Him. We will discuss this time of Noah a little more tomorrow and then move forward towards Abram/Abraham, the Cross, and the Mercy Seat of Heaven.
TAKE HOME:
- Noah was found righteous in the eyes of the Lord and thus not only he, but his family were preserved. Genesis 7:1 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
- Sin was so prevalent in the earth that Noah was the only righteous man that God could find. He had to be preserved for redemption to occur and the Word of the Lord to be done.
- Upon exiting the Ark Noah prepared a sacrificial offering unto the Lord, a sin offering and no doubt a First Fruits offering.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
