EXPRESSION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, AND JOY

Greetings to all reading this Bible teaching and welcome to the ongoing study of “The Kingdom of God”. This is teaching number 134. I am spending so much time on this topic because Jesus did in His earthly ministry. Jesus has gone on to the Right Hand of the Father and left us to continue His Ministry and even greater things. Let’s turn our attention to our anchor Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
As I have pointed out many times this is a command not a suggestion or something nice to do if you find the time. At salvation we instantly come out of the kingdom of darkness and are under the authority or jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Light. Our King is Jesus the Christ. He, His Word is our highest authority. This kingdom is not geographical presently but is within us in the Holy Spirit. This Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy. Like all kingdoms this kingdom has a way of doing things which is the King’s way or Heavens way. We are on assignment on the earth and as such when we are doing Heaven’s business the natural things of this life are added or given to us. That does not mean that we don’t have a part we do but it will come easily.
Now let’s go to our teaching Scripture for today.
Colossians 1:12-15 (KJV)
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
What a beautiful passage as is the whole chapter. The Father through the work of the Son, Jesus the Christ come in the flesh, has enabled (meet) us to be partakers with the saints of all Heaven has to offer. When we have natural light, we can see things as they really are and not be fooled by shadows and hidden things. Likewise in spiritual light, knowledge, we can see things as they really are and not be fooled by demonic deceptions.
Verse thirteen is such a beautiful verse. First let’s look at the Biblical Numerology. Colossians is the twelfth Book of the New Testament and twelve is the number of governmental perfection. One is the number of unity, oneness with God. And thirteen is the number of depravity and rebellion. So, could we say this? When we become one with God, we left the kingdom and life of depravity and rebellion and became rulers in the light of this earth. One might say “whoa that’s a little strong David” and I would say it sounds that way because perhaps you don’t understand Jesus has stripped Satan. Jesus, the Word, as our authority and Power are the rightful rulers of this earth. It is ours; we are to occupy until the day of accounting.
We are redeemed, purchased and made clean, acceptable to the Father, by the Blood if Jesus. Is whom has been seen is the image of the Father we have not seen. In Hebrews it tells us He is the express, exact, image of the Father. As we have discussed elsewhere Jesus was the first born from the dead, the spiritual dead. Now, each of us in our order are born, resurrected spiritually and soon physically, from the dead.
TAKE HOME:
- We are commanded to be an expression of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
- We have been translated from the authority, the jurisdiction, of darkness in the marvelous light of the Son of God.
- The Blood of Jesus has made us clean, acceptable to the Father and capable of being a partaker of all the Kingdom offers.
