A WELL OF TRUTH
GIVE NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in the Lord and welcome back to A Well of Truth this week teaching about giving the devil a foothold or place in our lives. Before I move into the teaching for today please share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are vital to this Ministry and to the Kingdom of God. Also, don’t forget to be reading out loud.
The Lord is good to give us His perfect instructions for life so as to bring His will into our lives in the earth. It is His will that we have Heaven on the earth. Doing our own thing as we did in the world is not the way. Not long ago in a time of prayer it came up in my thinking to give no place to the devil. I knew that was the Lord prompting me right out of Scripture. I also remembered what Jesus told His disciples just before the Cross.
John 14:30 (KJV)
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
For just a moment I want to explore the Biblical Numerology of the foregoing verse. The Gospel of John is the fourth Book of the New Testament and four is the number of light, authority, and power (review the fourth day of creation). Fourteen is the number of deliverance or salvation. Just hours from this statement our deliverance will occur and our salvation be secured. Finally, thirty is the number for the Blood of Jesus. O the Blood that washed away our sins and made us white as snow giving us eternal life and right standing with the Heavenly Father. You will remember, I hope, that the Devil nor any human forced Jesus to the Cross, Jesus surrendered to the Cross for our sake.
John 10:17-18 (KJV)
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Since we are in the image and likeness of God, of Jesus, are of like kind, we also can come to a place where the prince of this world has nothing in us as well. Consider the following Scripture as a proof of that statement.
Ephesians 4:13 (KJV)
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
A few verses later we find this.
Ephesians 4:15 (KJV)
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
We are to look just like Jesus! Remember what Jesus said to Philip? If Jesus in His earthly Ministry did it we are able and commanded to do it as well and more (John 14:12).
John 14:8-9 (KJV)
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Have we really even tried, have we dared to believe it possible that people seeing us are seeing the Father, seeing Jesus? The Book of Ephesians is written to the Church. Much of the fourth chapter of Ephesians is dealing with sin in the Church, yes in the Church. Sin gives a place to the devil, something in us. I think most if not all of us are familiar with the following passage.
Ephesians 4:26-27 (KJV)
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
We see here that anger can lead to sin and must be dealt with promptly otherwise we will be giving place to the devil. The Message Bible brings the idea forward in a little different way.
Ephesians 4:26-27 (MSG)
26 Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry.
27 Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.
Those who are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit are fully equipped to not sin. The absence of sin brings the blessing, sin brings the curse. This day it is set before you, chose to sin not.
Lord willing, I will return next Sunday with a now Word from the Throne of God.
