A WELL OF TRUTH
RIGHTLY DIVIDING

Greetings dear ones and welcome back to “A Well of Truth”. My topic today is going to center around rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Before moving forward please share this teaching by every means available to you expanding our reach with good news. This is vital, the good news, to us all. Before we delve into our lesson consider this verse.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
We all have an incredible “lack of knowledge” but that is not what brings destroying into our lives. What makes place for the destroyer is the rejection of knowledge, revelation knowledge from the Lord. How many of us take the time to prove, from Scripture, what we believe? So long as it fits our narrative, worldview, and belief system we accept it as Truth. But, is it the Truth.
2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Who has the responsibility to study? You and me, not just the Pastor or our favorite superstar Christian. Why do we study, to be approved of God, and rightly divide the Word of Truth. We don’t get credit for someone else’s study. Whatever we see or hear we need to ask ourselves if there is a Bible model. The Bible model means we can find a similar event at least twice by different authors in Scripture, in context. The other question is related and that is to find at least two witnesses, accounts, by different writers. We must not have a critical or faultfinding spirit (which is evil) but we must have critical ears and thinking. Critical in the good and necessary sense has to do with being analytical, judicious, diagnostic, detailed, and searching. Someone else’s zeal, loudness, or affirmative actions do not make a thing True. Just because the Pastor said it, Mamma said it, or superstar speaker says it does not make it the Truth. Is it Bible, is it in Scripture in the context being used. Context and using the whole Scripture is vital, I will give you two examples concerning partial verse use that are common and you have most likely heard as well. First the Hosea Scripture.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Some will stop with the first phrase and not complete the idea being presented. God is not saying through His Prophet Hosea that people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. If that was true, we would all have been destroyed long ago. We are all incredibly ignorant of the Truth considering all there is to know. We are destroyed when we hear the Truth and reject it for the lie. We may already believe the lie and don’t recognize the Truth or the lie may come later like Adam and Eve in the Garden. We don’t recognize the Truth when we don’t study and prove what we hear. We may throw it out immediately when it does not align with our belief system with no thought to if it could really be Bible Truth. What about this next verse?
Romans 8:1 (KJV)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
It is not uncommon to hear someone partially quote this verse, proclaiming that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Is that what the verse says? First the word condemnation. It means to have an adverse judgment against. Back to the verse. The whole verse says there is no adverse judgment against those who walk after the Spirit. What about the Christian who walks after the flesh? Walking after the flesh and opens the door to the demons, sin, and an adverse judgment. It is we ourselves that open the door to adverse judgments. The devil brings the accusation, Jesus is our defense lawyer (advocate), the Father is the Judge. If the charge is true and unrepented of, an adverse judgement must be rendered. Now, think about Romans 8:1 in the context of the following familiar verse.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
By: Dr. David R. Wood, Author, Bible Teacher, and Prophetic Voice – Lord willing, I will have another fresh Word of Truth from the Throne next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
