A NATION ESTABLISHED UPON THE ROCK

Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries. Welcome back to the fourth installment of this special teaching series commemorating our spiritual independence from darkness and our independence as a nation. The title “BLOOD COVENANT NATIONS” is referring to three nations. Two of these three nations are natural, and they are Israel and the United States. The third is spiritual and that is the Church, the Body of Christ. I suspect many are aware that the United States in on the wrong track and has been for some time. No, the track the USA is on is not the will of God, being some sovereign plan beyond our understanding. We are off track in deep darkness of rebellion to the will and ways of God, our Father. There is a spark of hope at the present time but let us get and keep our eyes on Jesus and let Him work through whatever willing vessels He may find. I ask again; will America return to righteousness?
Today I am going to talk about the spiritual temperature of the original thirteen colonies which later became the original
thirteen states of the United States of America. Does the focus upon God and the Christian Faith continue from the Covenant of 1607, Mayflower Compact in 1620 to the establishment of
the states over one hundred and fifty years later? The short answer is, yes! Let us review together in alphabetical order the Preambles to the original thirteen State Constitutions. Where there is not a Preamble, then I have made a selection from the
Constitution itself which reflects their attitude toward God.
Connecticut – “The People of Connecticut acknowledging with gratitude, the good providence of God, in having permitted them to enjoy a free government…”
Delaware – “Through Divine goodness, all men have by nature the rights of worshiping and serving their Creator according to the dictates of their consciences, of enjoying and defending life and liberty, of acquiring and protecting reputation and property…”
Georgia – “…we the people of Georgia, relying upon the protection and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish this Constitution.”
Maryland – “We, the People of the State of Maryland, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious liberty,”
Massachusetts – “We, therefore, the people of Massachusetts, acknowledging, with grateful hearts, the goodness of the great Legislator of the universe, in affording us, in the course of His providence, an opportunity, deliberately and peaceable, without fraud, violence or surprise, of entering into an original, explicit, and solemn compact with each other; and of forming a new constitution of civil government, for ourselves and posterity;
and devoutly imploring His direction in so interesting a design,…”
New Hampshire – The New Hampshire Constitution does not have a preamble but the State Constitution – Bill of Rights – Article 5. Reads as follows: “Every individual has a natural and unalienable right to worship God…”
New Jersey – “We, the people of the State of New Jersey, grateful to Almighty God for the civil and religious liberty which He hath so long permitted us to enjoy, and looking to Him for a blessing upon our endeavors to secure and transmit the same unimpaired to succeeding generations,…”
New York – “We The People of the State of New York, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom, in order to secure its blessings, DO ESTABLISH THIS CONSTITUTION.”
North Carolina – “We, the people of the State of North Carolina, grateful to Almighty God, the Sovereign Ruler of Nations, for the preservation of the American Union and the existence of our civil, political and religious liberties, and acknowledging our dependence upon Him for the continuance of those blessings to us and our posterity,…”
Pennsylvania – “WE, the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, grateful to Almighty God for the blessings of civil and religious liberty, and humbly invoking His guidance, do ordain and establish this Constitution.”
Rhode Island – “We, the people of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, grateful to Almighty God for the civil and religious liberty which He hath so long permitted us to enjoy, and looking to Him for a blessing upon our endeavors to secure and to transmit the same, unimpaired, to succeeding generations,…”
South Carolina – “We, the people of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled, grateful to God for our liberties, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the preservation and perpetuation of the same.”
Virginia – The Virginia Constitution does not have a preamble. However Section 16 of the Bill of Rights; June 12, 1776 reads as follows: “That religion, or the duty which we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason
and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each
other.”
Well now, if that is not a Godless bunch (Sarcasm mine). It is easy to see over and over again that they were grateful to God, the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Judeo-Christian heritage comes directly from this God, the only living God, and He is the cause of American exceptionalism. These early settlers, the framers of their individual State Constitutions clearly understood that any freedom they had, any rights which they enjoyed, were from the Creator God.
The Constitution of the United States calls our rights from God “Blessings of Liberty” and is expressed this way in The Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Many point to the Constitution of the United States and say it is a secular document because it does not mention God. This is a statement of exceedingly great ignorance which ignores not only the great mass of evidence but even the very limited evidence I have presented to this point.
The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of the United States are considered one document, and this is established in Article. VII. of the Constitution which ends as follows: “Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty-seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth in witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names,” They even honor the living God in the signing the document! Notice “the Twelfth” mentioned in article VII is not the twelve signers but the twelfth year of independence. Eleven years were completed on July 4th, 1787, so in September they were in the twelfth year of independence.
It is my hope that you have not fallen asleep for it is important for us as American’s to understand the foundation upon which our nation stands and upon which we stand as individual Christians is one and the same.
TAKE HOME:

- Preambles to the original thirteen State Constitutions or the Constitution itself reflects a grateful and thankful attitude toward God. Yes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
