THE PEOPLE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARACTER OF THEIR CONGRESS

Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries. Welcome back to the sixth installment of this special teaching series commemorating our spiritual independence from darkness and our independence as a nation. The title “BLOOD COVENANT NATIONS” is referring to three nations. Two of the three nations are natural, and they are Israel and the United States. The third is spiritual and that is the Church, the Body of Christ. Although spiritual it is very real and greatly impacting the natural realm. I suspect many are aware that the United States in on the wrong track and has been for some time. No, the track the USA is on is not the will of God, being some sovereign plan beyond our understanding. We are off track in deep darkness of rebellion to the will and ways of God, our Father. There is a spark of hope at the present time but let us get and keep our eyes on Jesus and let Him work through whatever willing vessels He may find. I ask again; will America return to righteousness?
I am going to be talking about our stewardship responsibilities as citizens of our nation but more importantly as sons of God. Every American has a duty to vote. Every Christian is bound by not just by duty to our nation but also by the Biblical laws of stewardship. Not voting or voting for candidates of wickedness is a sin and will result in judgment, now in this present life and in the life to come. Right from the beginning in the garden of Eden, God assigned His son, Adam, the responsibility to care for and guard the garden.
Genesis 2:15 (KJV)
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Do you suppose that the God, who changes not, has changed (Malachi 3:6)? How things go in our personal lives and in our national life is up to us, the sons and daughters of God, not the devil and his crowd. Do we want to be blessed? Do we want
America to remain blessed and even increase in the blessing. I hope the resounding answer was YES!
Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
If righteousness exalts or lifts up a nation, what do you suppose unrighteousness does to a nation? The answer is splat right into the pig pen! I pray in the name of Jesus that we will not be that nation.
Proverbs 14:34 (KJV)
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
As we build America we must look to the Lord for wisdom and guidance otherwise we are wasting our time and it will all crumble like an old cookie.
Psalm 127:1 (KJV)
1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
What should we look for when we are preparing to vote? We are to look for men and women that line up with the Word of God and not our ideas about how things should be or our pet project. Look at and listen to the Word of the Lord as you read it.
Ezra 7:25 (KJV)
25 And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.
I’m guessing we have let this one slip. Why? Just look at how the Legislators vote and the Judges rule. We are not informed, educated in God’s Word, in the realities of the work of Satan, and we are not requiring those that rule over us to honor Gods Word.
Our children know nothing about our Godly heritage in America and sadly neither do their parents. We are trying to build this American house on the sand; we must get back to the rock. We have adopted the demonic trait of what about me and not the
Godly trait of what about Jesus. We, the people of God, are responsible for the Word of God in America, and the Word of God alone will make America strong and free until Jesus comes for the Church. Let us look at another passage that gives us guidance in
choosing men and women for office.
Exodus 18:21 (KJV)
21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
PRESIDENT AND MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL JAMES GARFIELD
James Garfield (1831-1881), the twentieth President of the United States and Minister of the Gospel said: “The people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities…If the next centennial does not find us a great nation…it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the
morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”
NOAH WEBSTER
Noah Webster in his 1832 “History of the United States,” Chapter XIX “Advice to the Young,” #49:
“49. When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of a republican government depends on the faithful discharge of the Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws. Intriguing men can never safely be trusted.”
TAKE HOME:
