Greetings dear and precious saints purchased by the incalculable Precious Blood of Jesus. Welcome back to our enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. I am puzzled by those of you who follow these teachings regularly yet don’t share?? If you’re just skating by and wondering who David Wood is don’t worry about it (don’t worry period). The picture today is of seven ancient pillars to remind us all to pray for the seven pillars of society. Also, never forget to pray for Israel, it is a command of our God (Psalm 122:6-9) not a holy suggestion.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:1-5 (NLT)
1 Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For this is what the LORD says: “When I sold you into exile,
I received no payment. Now I can redeem you without having to pay for you.”
4 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.
5 What is this?” asks the LORD. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.
Again, the Lord is trying to awaken His people, do you suppose this is the case today? I hear people saying that all is fulfilled concerning the return of the Lord excepting His actual return (Rapture). Is this correct? Is this the condition of the Church today?
Ephesians 5:27 (KJV)
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
I don’t think so, but in any event, come quickly Lord Jesus. The English word “awaken” from the Hebrew meaning to stir, to arouse, to awaken. It is used of raising something or someone to action, of agitating someone, of motivating him or her to action according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. The other thing I want to bring into the light as we study this is that this word is feminine in gender. With the awakening there comes a possibility for productivity for the kingdom which of course is reflected in abundance for the person. So, this is for individuals and the nation, more specifically those who call Him Lord.
Did you notice that the Scripture does not say the Lord will give them strength upon awakening but that they must put on their strength. Many (I suspect nearly all) in the Church are waiting for the Lord to give them strength, a passive event on their part. No, no dear ones, you and I have a vital role to play. We must stand up in our authority and exercise it in faith (fully persuaded), then the strength of the Lord will come. If we don’t do our part, He not only won’t do His part, He can’t do His part. He does not have the authority, that resides with men and women. God’s idea not mine, I didn’t write this wonderful Book and establish this beautiful Kingdom, He did.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good, only good, initiates nothing bad in our lives, and He cannot lie.
