Greetings dear and precious saints purchased by the incalculable Precious Blood of Jesus. Welcome back to our enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. I am puzzled by those of you who follow these teachings regularly yet don’t share?? If you’re just skating by and wondering who David Wood is don’t worry about it (don’t worry period). The picture today is of foggy fall morning out the back windows of our first condo in Maine. Also, never forget to pray for Israel, it is a command of our God (Psalm 122:6-9) not a holy suggestion.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:1-5 (NLT)
1 Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For this is what the LORD says: “When I sold you into exile,
I received no payment. Now I can redeem you without having to pay for you.”
4 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.
5 What is this?” asks the LORD. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.
The Lord issues three commands. First wake up, cloth yourself with strength, and put on your beautiful cloths. These are responsibilities for the individuals and the people as a whole. The Lord will not make us wake up; we have to choose to be awake. What have you chosen, what have I chosen? Let’s not assume we are awake. Remember, in the Kingdom of God (nor the natural) there is no such thing as neutral, we are either loosing ground or gaining ground. Are there fruits of our labor or are we seemingly treading water and slowing sinking? There are no holidays in the kingdom of darkness nor in the Kingdom of Light. Is our walk of faith increasing, our walk of love, and our communion of the Spirit for guidance and Wisdom. Entertain no thoughts even close to the idea that I have arrived and I can now coast into Heaven. That is deception. What is the call, the plan of God in your life, my life, are we doing it?
What about putting on strength. That is placing oneself in total submission to the Lord.
Psalm 18:1-3 (KJV)
1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Notice in Psalm 18:1, “I will love thee”? I understand this is in the Hebrew but in context we can understand the author is saying I obey and serve you O LORD. Our total submission to Him brings His help, otherwise, less than total, leaves on to their own devices. The passage from Psalms might lead those who do not diligently study the Word to conclude that it is all up to God. Is that the case? We have to be in submission, humble ourselves under the mighty Hand of God. Did God kill Goliath without David’s participation? Of course not, David had a part, a big part, and so do we in dealing with our Goliaths. He had to conquer fear, he needed the Wisdom of God, he needed a developed faith in God, he had to know the will of God, and he needed to enter the field of combat with words and presence. So do we, day in and day out.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord is good, nothing but good, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
