DESIGNED TO BE MY MESSENGERS

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating and stimulating Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to dive into this wonderful Book, please take a moment and share as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is a stock photo of a stage with a play being performed. This is to represent one of the seven pillars of society, the pillar of sports and entertainment. I suspect you are very much aware that sports and entertainment have a powerful voice in America. Let us pray for righteousness to invade this sphere of influence. God is not going to “sovereignly” invade this sphere, although He has the Power, He does not have the authority. He will raise up men and women through which to work, perhaps you are called to this arena. He will not make you take your place. As you know I have been encouraging us all to pray for two of the seven pillars namely the government and the Church but now I am expanding by the will of God for us to pray for all seven pillars. Our desire is for men and women of God, not the heathen, and certainly not the anti-God people, to control these seven gates.
Proverbs 9:1 (KJV)
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
You may have also heard these pillars referred to as gates, mountains, or spheres of influence. All of these are talking about the same thing. Jesus destroyed all of the enemies’ legal right to occupy these gates and it is our job to enforce that victory and occupy the high ground so to speak. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 42:17-21 (TLB)
17 But those who trust in idols and call them gods will be greatly disappointed; they will be turned away.
18 Oh, how blind and deaf you are toward God! Why won’t you listen? Why won’t you see?
19 Who in all the world is as blind as my own people, who are designed to be my messengers of truth? Who is so blind as my “dedicated one,” the “servant of the Lord”?
20 You see and understand what is right but won’t heed nor do it; you hear, but you won’t listen.
21 The Lord has magnified his law and made it truly glorious. Through it he had planned to show the world that he is righteous.
As we review our primary text above let’s focus in on verse nineteen. Our God, their God, states flat out that we were all designed to be messengers of Truth. This word translated to English as messenger is transliterated to Greek as malʾāk meaning to dispatch as a deputy, a messenger sent specifically of God, also a prophet, priest or teacher, an ambassador, or king according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Does any of this look familiar? I am sure there are many more Scriptures we could turn too, but for now meditate on the following.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:15 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV)
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Ephesians 4:10-12 (KJV)
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Revelation 1:6 (KJV)
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
It is for all of this that we are designed. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
