FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER
DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to From the Prophets Chamber. This week I will be teaching from Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight. As you know I reference this chapter often when referring to the blessings of God and the curse which is of ourselves. Do not be confused, we trigger the blessing in obedience to God and we trigger the curse in obedience to Satan. God is not going about blessing some and cursing others due to some unfathomable plan that brings glory to Him and somehow works for our good. Before I go further, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Also, be sure you are reading out loud. The featured picture is of me teaching in Pennington, Texas. Now, let’s take a look at the opening verses of our Bible text.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (KJV)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
What God is about to talk about “shall come to pass” not sometimes, perhaps, or you just never know. The Lord then lays out three requirements for the following words, blessings, to come to pass. One is we must listen diligently. Reminds us of the following admonition from the Master.
Luke 8:8-10 (KJV)
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Listen to this passage in the Passion Translation.
Luke 8:8-9 (PassionNTPsa)
8 Yet some of the seed fell into good, fertile soil, and it grew and flourished until it produced more than a hundredfold harvest, a bumper crop.” Then Jesus added, shouting out to all who would hear, “Listen with your heart and you will understand!”
9 Later his disciples came to Jesus and asked him privately what deeper meaning was found in this parable.
- He said, “You have been given a teachable heart to perceive the secret, hidden mysteries of God’s kingdom realm. But to those who don’t have a listening heart, my words are merely stories. Even though they have eyes, they are blind to the true meaning of what I say, and even though they listen, they won’t receive full revelation.
This passage is a little hard to understand, the Passion Translation helps but I’m not sure brings forward to the whole Truth, the whole idea. The understanding of Scripture is not automatic, it must be purposeful. When we are born again (saved) our spirit man is quickened (made alive) and can than hear from and be taught of the Holy Spirit. Learning the Word of God is not automatic. Understanding the Word of God and connecting the dots so to speak is not automatic. Each of us individually make a decision to truly listen and to receive understanding. Nothing in the Kingdom of God is automatic, for that matter neither is anything in the kingdom of darkness automatic. We decide with our thoughts, words, and ways. Whose thoughts, words, and ways have you, have I, chosen today? The Words of God, the lies of Satan, or our own reasonings? Guess which thoughts, words, and ways produce the blessing? Well, Jesus said we would know them by their fruit.
Matthew 7:17-20 (KJV)
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
So, lets each of us examine the fruit of our life. I can’t speak for you but I have zero interest in being cut down and cast into Hell. Good fruit and evil fruit is just another way of speaking of the blessing and the curse.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday.
