GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – PART FIVE
Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment to share this teaching to expand the reach of this Ministry, the Truth. You have joined the Friday teaching series titled “Gifts” and I am currently dealing with the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. According to the Smart Lookup Dictionary a gift is a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present. We have not earned or in any other way made a payment for any gift from God. God gives these gifts willingly to us without payment of any kind. The gift(s) of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) are given as the Spirit wills and only people baptized in the Holy Spirit may receive any of these gifts.

11 One and the same Spirit is at work in all these things, distributing to each person as he chooses.

4 Now there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit gives them.
5 Also there are different ways of serving, but it is the same Lord being served.
6 And there are different modes of working, but it is the same God working them all in everyone.
7 Moreover, to each person is given the particular manifestation of the Spirit that will be for the common good.
These gifts are given to benefit each of us individually and are for the common good. When I say the gift(s) we each receive benefit us individually, think of it this way. Everything in the Kingdom of God is a win – win situation. Think about our salvation. Of course, we are the big winner for we gain eternal life and all the beyond comparison benefits of salvation but God gains another son. A win for us, a win for God. God wants a huge family, if you are not part of it now, join today. Think about giving whether it be money, assets, time, or some other thing. The recipient benefits (wins) greatly but the giver is also a winner on several levels. First we have the satisfaction of giving, there is no feeling or experience quite like it. Second, is we have activated the spiritual law of sowing and reaping (seedtime and harvest). Thirdly and perhaps the most important of all is we please the Lord with our faith and our obedience sets us up for Him to manifest in our life. You see what I mean? The Kingdom of God is just wonderful. The laws, the ways, of the Kingdom of God are all good. Our God is far beyond comparison good! Now, let’s start to review these nine gifts of the Spirit one by one.
1 Corinthians 12:8-11 (KJV)
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
The first gift (not in order of importance) the Apostle Paul mentions by the unction of the Holy Spirit is “the word of wisdom”. I have heard it said that the phrase “the word” refers to a single word however it strikes me as referring to a single topic which could involve one or several word(s). As I have looked at (researched) this word ‘wisdom’ it seems that at its base is the idea of clarity about a given thing. We are also aware that there is natural wisdom and supernatural wisdom. What we are talking about is supernatural wisdom or the wisdom of God. I think we could all agree you really can’t get any better than having wisdom directly from God. The wisdom of God means the divine wisdom, including the ideas of infinite skill, insight, knowledge, and purity according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament.
The second gift mentioned is the word of knowledge. Again, this is not to say it is a single word but an utterance from God through the Holy Spirit on a single topic. At this juncture let me point out that we should not be looking for or expecting something dramatic or spectacular in the manifestation of these gifts. Remember, these are coming by way of the Holy Spirit who has lived within us from the day of salvation 24/7. He has been speaking to us from before salvation and day in and day out ever since. His voice and His ways will and should seem ‘natural’ to us. By natural I don’t mean fleshy or worldly but familiar. These gifts can manifest without dramatic or lively music, smoke, or strobe lights. The manifestation of a word of knowledge is to “know” (absolute), be aware (of), feel, (have) know (-ledge), perceive, be sure, or understand a certain thing according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
