GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – PART TWO
Greetings to our wonderful friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. and welcome back to this Friday teaching series titled “Gifts”. Please take a moment and share this and other teachings published under The Three Minute Word blog heading, to increase the reach of the Truth. God is so good dear ones. First of all, He could have just thrown His hands in the air when Adam and Eve sinned and eliminated this natural creation in a moments time BUT He didn’t, He loved (agape) the man He created, He had a redemption plan, and He had a plan for nothing but good for this man. The word “good” really is way to weak for His plans are far beyond the natural but not the spiritual imagination. Precious saints we have the mind of Christ and all mysteries are open to us.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
What would one suppose is hidden from the “mind of Christ”? Absolutely nothing, therefore whatever we are willing to search out, God will reveal to us. The only limits on us are the ones we impose on ourselves. Now, let’s switch gears to our main topic, Gifts of the Spirit. The ‘Spirit’ referred to here is the Holy Spirit or as King James says the Holy Ghost. Jesus made it clear in His final instructions that we were not ready or equipped for effective ministry until we were filled with His Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4-5 (KJV)
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
The purpose was to endue us with Power, the Power of God, the Power of the Holy Ghost, which we did not receive at salvation but is received in a separate and distinct experience.
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Ten days later at the Feast of Pentecost, when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, the Holy Spirit came triumphantly back into the earth and men (mankind) were now filled, Anointed, and walking in the Power God intended from the beginning. Notice that speaking with other tongues is inseparable from the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Not only did Jesus get the authority (dominion) back but the Power (Blessing) as well. Wow, our God is so good! Now 2000 years later we are not walking fully in either one. Why are we so slack? Are we unaware of our adversary? The Law was given on the Day of Pentecost at Mount Sinai some 1400 to 1500 years earlier and now comes Grace, the Holy Spirit.
Romans 6:12-14 (KJV)
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
We have the light of the Word and the Holy Spirit (Teacher and Leader), and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to not sin, to not yield to lust. It is a choice and we have more than adequate tools to resist successfully. The problem is that the devil is an experienced deceiver and when we take our eye off the Word, he will stab us through. The saints of old were following the Word of God in their own power however we have the Holy Spirit (Grace), oh, what an advantage. If we will be diligent with the Word and listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, we can win every confrontation with the enemy. Lord willing, I will actually start dealing with the gifts of the Spirit next Friday.

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
