GIFTS – PART TEN
Sunday – December 29, 2019, Tevet 1, 5780

The end of 2019 is knocking hard at the door dear friends. Let us all look eagerly forward into 2020 with great expectancy as to what the Lord will do in us and through us for His glory. And by the way, greetings and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering study titled “Gifts”. Starting in 2020, Friday the 3rd of January, this series will move from Sundays to Fridays. At least for the time being there will not be a regular Sunday publication. Don’t be surprised to find me commenting from time to time on special topics or current events from a Biblical prospective. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage us and to expand the reach of these teachings.
I have been teaching about the Precious trail of Blood from the Garden of Eden to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. This is to set the foundation for the first and essential gift of salvation, the forgiveness and absolute blotting our of our sins. When our sins are eliminated with no record, we are again in right standing with the Father. We are ushered back into the family with all the obligations, rights, and benefits of this wonderful beyond description Kingdom. Out of this essential foundational gift flow a multitude of other wonderful gifts. However, just like salvation none of these gift just fall upon us without us doing our part. We must know about the gift, receive the gift, believe the gift, and take appropriate actions to implement the gift into our lives and use for the Kingdom of God. Examine the following passage which has to do with this first and essential gift of salvation.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:14 (KJV)
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Notice for this to take place, that is for us to be saved, we must hear, receive, believe (have faith in), and then confess with our mouth. God made it all available and it is free but we have a critical role to play. It will be the same with all the other gifts. Now, let’s turn our attention back to our main topic which is the trail of precious Blood from the Garden of Eden to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. I left off two Sundays ago in the midst of perhaps the most important pivotal chapter in all of the Bible.
Genesis 22:3-4 (KJV)
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
Isaac, the son of promise, has been born and is now at least in his early twenties and perhaps as old as thirty-three (age of Jesus at the Crucifixion). God has told Abraham to take Isaac and go to the land of Moriah and sacrifice him there upon the mountain God would show to Abraham (and Isaac). Can you imagine all of the thoughts that could easily flood one’s mind and perhaps overwhelm one? It would appear that Abraham’s only thought was to believe the promise of God that his seed (grandchildren etc.) and The Seed (Messiah) would come through Isaac.
Hebrews 11:17-19 (KJV)
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
I know we all would like to think that we have this same kind, strength, of faith, but do we? We see from our Genesis text that Abraham (and Isaac) obeyed immediately. Do we? This was a three-day journey to Mount Moriah, the very spot where Christ Jesus would be sacrificed some 2000 years later for the sins of the world. This trip (the proving of Abraham, Isaac and the Covenant) was to determine if redemption was to happen through Abraham and Isaac or would God need to raise up another. Abraham considered Isaac dead at the point of the command but was confident (full of unwavering faith) God would raise him from the dead. Abraham received Isaac back from the dead on the third day just as the Father would receive Jesus back from the dead on the third day. Isaac was unaware that he was the sacrifice until they arrived and ascended the mount but he was a willing participant just as Jesus would be 2000 years later. Isaac was as confident in his father as Jesus was in His Father. Notice the last phrase of our text “and saw the place afar off”. That is not talking about physical distance. Think about it, they have traveled three days and are now at Mount Moriah and a few hundred feet or yards from the place of sacrifice. This is talking about time; Abraham saw the sacrifice of Jesus some 2000 years into the future and that the Father would raise Him from the dead. Abraham and Isaac have full confidence (faith) in God. Isaac willingly got on the alter with the same conviction as Jesus on the Cross, that God would raise him from the dead. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday the 3rd of January 2020.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
