GIFTS – PART THIRTY
Friday – May 15, 2020, Iyar 21, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners and welcome back to this powerful and illuminating Friday Bible Study titled “Gifts”. The first and foundational gift of God is salvation, it is the door to all the other gifts of God. We in the body of Christ have a Heavenly Father who is beyond any kind of compare. He brought the offer of an exceedingly abundant life now and forever when we had no clue, we needed it, or it was even available. We were dead (spiritually dead and soon physically dead) in our sins. When we made Jesus Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit quickened our dead spirit man who was destined for Hell and seated us “in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. Dear ones even this moment, our spirit is within us and simultaneously seated at the right hand of the Father in Christ Jesus. Yes, yes, we are in two places at once.
Ephesians 2:5-8 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
None of this was possible without a Blood Covenant with a man in the earth. That man was Abraham and then Isaac. This is in part why Abraham is referred to as the father of us all.
Romans 4:16 (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Abraham is the father of the Jews (“of the law”) and the Christians (“of the faith of Abraham”). An interesting thing here is that the word “seed” in this text appears to be singular referring to Christ. The promise to Abraham is the return or restitution of the Blessing (Holy Spirit), the Grace of God to mankind.
Galatians 3:13-16 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
All of these wonderful things hung in the balance from the day God commanded Abraham to go to the land of Canaan, to the day He told Abraham to take Isaac for sacrifice to Mt. Moriah, until the moment God knew without a doubt the love Abraham had for Him. For that matter God proved the love (agape) of Isaac for Him as well on that day at Mount Moriah. The test very successfully passed and the Blood Covenant of Genesis fifteen affirmed this day and then eternally sealed on Mt. Calvary (Mt. Moriah) some 2000 years later with the Blood of the New Covenant, the precious Blood and body of Christ Jesus. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Genesis text and see what else the Lord has to share with us.
Genesis 22:17-19 (KJV)
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
In verse seventeen (17 = victory) God speaking through an angel tells Abraham that great blessing is his and that Abraham’s obedience is bringing wonderful things, persons, realities. The word “seed” twice in this verse is singular and masculine referring to Christ. The sand of the sea is generally interpreted as the Jewish peoples and the stars of heaven as the Church. Both came through the obedience of Abraham and Isaac assuring the coming of the Messiah. Finally, in this verse we see that this “seed shall possess the gate of his enemies”. In ancient times whoever controlled the gate controlled the city. We see this again in the following verse.
Genesis 24:60 (KJV)
60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
Rebekah became the wife of Isaac and the word “seed” in this verse is masculine and singular referring to Christ. The natural line of Jesus, the Christ is established and He is on His way. The gate to your or my home is controlled and opened with keys.
Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Now, each person makes the choice for Hell and eternal spiritual death, or Heaven and eternal spiritual life. First Christ and now we “possess the gate of those which hate them”. These that hated Him and hate us is the demonic forces including the devil himself. We have absolute control over the devil which keeps the curse out of our lives, what are we doing with the keys, what are we doing with that authority?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
