GOOD THINGS HAVE COME – PART TWO
Tuesday – January 16, 2018

“I’m going to get that corn, you just wait and see!” Do we have the determination and persistence for the things that are ours in Christ Jesus of this racoon for this natural food? I think we can quickly conclude that the hunger this racoon has for natural food is not present in the Church at large for spiritual food. What we must ask ourselves is: what about me? If our conclusion is that we lack a compelling hunger for not only the Word of God but the performance of the Word of God in our lives and Church and we are just going through the motions, then we must repent. We must ask the Lord to help us. We must confess that we hunger (calling things that be not as though they were) and by faith go out into the deep expecting a catch. We must confess an expectancy for signs and wonders to follow us. Why does repentance always seem to apply to someone else and why does repentance bring little to no change in us? Short answer, we are not serious in that we do not take the next steps which will always be by faith. Let us review our primary text for our Bible Study from the wonderful Book of Hebrews and then dive right back into the Truth.
Hebrews 9:11-14 (KJV)
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Yesterday we spent some time with the idea that the things Christ has become High Priest over concerning us are for the most part already ours. They are appropriated and become a reality for us by faith. The major remaining component is getting our uncorrupted body like unto that of Jesus.
Romans 8:23 (KJV)
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Philippians 3:21 (KJV)
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
1 Corinthians 15:54 (KJV)
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O what a day that will be! God is so good. Now, let us consider our text and the good things that Jesus is now High Priest over concerning us. Pickup your Bible and start with Genesis and when you get to Revelation you will have quite a list. Why have we not taken these? These things have not and will not fall upon us with no effort on our part (this should be obvious to us all). The effort required of us is to know about their availability, walk in love, live by faith, and take possession as the Holy Spirit leads. Possession of anything that is to manifest in the physical always occurs in the spirit realm first. Jesus is seated at the right hand of Majesty on High in the presence of the Ark of the Covenant, the Cherubim’s, the Mercy Seat, but most importantly the Covenant (we call it the Holy Bible) and His own confirming, ratifying Blood. This is the “greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands” in our reference (Hebrews 9:11).
Consider what is already ours, paid for at Calvary. Right this moment Jesus, our High Priest, is at the right Hand of the Father mediating our cause, stipulating our rights. Included among the things we already have in legal possession is full authority (dominion), the Blessing (the Holy Spirit and Power), wealth (spiritual and physical), health (spiritual and physical), our families, and the full exercise of the Kingdom of God not just in our own lives but for those who are perishing (ministry). Yes, we are all in ministry! We are not all in the Five-Fold Ministry, but we are all in ministry. The Five-fold ministry or ministers are the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers who are equipping others, bringing and maintaining order according to the Truth in the Church. So, let us consider a few things. If we look at ourselves and we conclude we are not wealthy meaning, we are constrained by the resources we possess then repentance is in order. Next, we must inquire of the Lord as to how He wants us to proceed to change this failure. Making us wealthy is His part in confirming the Covenant, the one Jesus is mediating at the right Hand of the Father in the presence of the Blood. It will not fall upon us but will come by obedience (love walk), the unrestrained exercise of faith, and the leadership of the Spirit. I have mentioned wealth first because following salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit there is nothing more important to God for us to achieve. Tomorrow I am going to circle back to the following Scripture which I first presented on Monday.
John 7:27-31 (KJV)
27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
