Thursday – April 4, 2024, Adar Bet 25, 5784
Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this wonderful and enlightening study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. These are not just interesting stories of an ancient people; this is for our learning that we not repeat history.
Romans 15:3-4 (KJV)
3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Bold added)
Please take a moment and share this teaching and all the teachings from this Ministry to broaden our (and your) reach with the Truth. The Truth is sadly lacking in the body of Christ. I may not be talking about just the Church down the street. The featured picture today is of Donna and me, you guessed it, coming out of a restaurant in the Lake Travis area. The following is a new feature I will present from time to time for our enjoyment and perhaps education.
This day in History
On April 4, 1968, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., 39, was shot and killed while standing on a balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee; his slaying was followed by a wave of rioting.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:6-9 (KJV)
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
Today we see a dramatic shift to Messianic language. Can we not see Jesus all over this verse. This sounds a lot like Isaiah 61.
Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
I want to direct our attention today to the first phrase having to do with the beauty of feet of those who bring good tidings. Let’s look at the following familiar passage.
Romans 10:14-15 (KJV)
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
See that phrase again in verse fifteen, fifteen is the number of God’s provision, God’s rest. The word “feet” is simply referring to a mode of locomotion, today it could be a car, train, plane, etc. However, there is still an Anointed person, feet that bring the message of salvation and all the wonderful things therein. Jesus brought this message of redemption, salvation, He is Redemption, He is Salvation.
Ephesians 6:15 (KJV)
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
We are to be fully educated, have intimate knowledge of the gospel of peace. I have taught on peace many times so be reminded there are six components not just a quiet feeling. Remember when Jesus washed the feet of the disciples.
John 13:8 (KJV)
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
The priests of old had to wash their feet before entering the Holy Place or the Most Holy Place. The Word of God is the water with which we wash. Jesus is the Word.
John 20:21 (KJV)
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
As the Father sent Jesus into the world with great hope so we have the very same message, the same Anointing for the message of great hope. Nothing is impossible to him who believes or him who is with God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
