Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this wonderful and enlightening study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. These are not just interesting stories of an ancient people; this is for our learning that we not repeat history.
Romans 15:3-4 (KJV)
3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Bold added)
Please take a moment and share this teaching and all the teachings from this Ministry to broaden our (and your) reach with the Truth. The Truth is sadly lacking in the body of Christ. I may not be talking about just the Church down the street. The featured picture today is of a beautiful cardinal and was provided by Marilyn Stevens who takes stunning wildlife pictures.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:4-7 (NIV)
4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them.
5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the LORD. “For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock,” declares the LORD. “And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.”
7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Looking at verse four we are reminded of the overstay of the Israelites in Egypt with all of those consequences. What about you and me, have we ever overstayed in the world? Then the Assyrians conquered oppressed and took them into bondage due to sin, serious sin. I don’t want to mislead for all sin is serious but this was two of the big ten.
Deuteronomy 5:6-9 (KJV)
6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
Now, as we venture into verse five, God says, “Now therefore, what have I here” in the KJV. They are in bondage once again, this time to Babylon. However, out of Babylon comes the awaited King Cyrus. The one who will start the restoration of God’s people back to the Promised Land starting with rebuilding the Temple under Zerubbabel, later (different Kind) the walls under Nehemiah. This is not tomorrow but still nearly two hundred years in the future from when this is being written, the time of Isaiah. The Lord laments that His name is being blasphemed everyday all day and His people are being mocked. However, it appears that was not enough to bring repentance by His people. The Lord then speaks a Word of encouragement saying the day is coming when they will know His name, they will see His redemption, and they will know He spoke it long before.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord is good and He cannot lie, not one time ever. If there is something bad in our lives, not the threat (lie of the enemy), we ourselves opened the door and let the devil in. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, let Him in instead.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
