Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our delightful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book and what a loving God to give us insights, a lamp for our feet. Before moving forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is of Donna and me at the Cracker Barrel some months back. Really enjoy their meatloaf with mashed potatoes.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 45:17-19 (KJV)
17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
You will recall that we are talking about our obligation to pray for, minister to of our treasure, and honor the Jewish peoples, the nation of Israel. If you are just coming on board as a new reader the Holy Spirit is having me key off of verse seventeen of our primary text. It is a somewhat protracted side issue teaching but I don’t always get to do what I want in these teachings. I have been reviewing chapter 11 of Romans where the Apostle Paul, “a bond servant of Jesus Christ” is teaching about Israel and the Church. There are those who teach a Replacement Theology saying that the Church has replaced Israel. God through Paul is speaking a resounding NO. Now back to Romans chapter eleven today in the New Living Translation. This Bible is a thought for thought translation, unlike the King James Bible which is a word for word translation, first published in 1996.
Romans 11:16-17 (NLT)
16 And since Abraham and the other patriarchs were holy, their descendants will also be holy—just as the entire batch of dough is holy because the portion given as an offering is holy. For if the roots of the tree are holy, the branches will be, too.
17 But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree.
As we proceed into verse seventeen, we find that verse sixteen cannot be read or interpreted in isolation. From verse sixteen one might conclude that all Israel, all Jews, will be saved for if the Patriarchs were holy so are they. However, we find in verse seventeen that some of the branches (Jews) have been broken off. We, gentiles, have been grafted into the olive tree in their place. Not that we gentiles (non-Jews) have totally replaced Israel but only those Jews who rejected Jesus. And, this is by no means a one for one replacement. The root (vine) accepts whosoever will believe in the Messiah, Jew or gentile. Don’t be alarmed by all the talk about Abraham, remember he is the father of us all and if we are in Christ Jesus we are of the seed of Abraham.
Romans 4:16 (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Galatians 3:27-29 (KJV)
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Jesus, the Second Person of the Co-equal Trinity, is the root of salvation for all, Israelite and Gentile alike.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
