Greetings dear saints of God, brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to the study of the Bible Book of Jude. Please take a moment and share all of these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. I have been urging us to reflect upon 2023 and whether or not we did the will of God for our lives. Have you done that? If we truly love the Lord we have an obligation, a stewardship responsibility to use our time optimally.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (KJV)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
The word redeeming in this text has to do with the best use of time. We are to be vigilant and wise. The Word of God is Wisdom. We are to be on alert to prevent deception, traditions of men and doctrines of demons from our thinking. To be unwise is to not be vigilant and treat our Christian walk as part of our life, not our life. When we believe a lie, we do not know the will of God. Do we test all that we see and all that we hear as to if it is the Truth? As we come to understand the will of God are we quick to do it being both willing and obedient?
Isaiah 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
What is the condition of our heart as we go about the business of the Kingdom? Which verse applies to me, to you, nineteen or twenty? This Book of Jude deals with our faith, meaning not only believing but what we believe. It also deals with the much debated, divisive, and toxic idea of once saved always saved.
Now, let’s delve into our primary Bible text in the Book of Jude. Be sure you are reading out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Jude 1:3-5 (KJV)
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Today I want to pick up with the phrase “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness”. Today we might call this “greasy grace”. It is a doctrine that leads to or maintains a carnality in the Church. Have you heard the term, “we’re under grace not under the law”. The implication is that Jesus made everything okay so live how it pleases you, or how you think it pleases you. You perhaps have seen people talk about the Law in various ways but fundamentally the Law is divided into three parts, the moral law, the civil law, and the sacrificial law. The sacrificial laws were fulfilled in Christ Jesus and therefore to practice that would be an abomination before God. There is some flexibility with the civil law but it is still applicable. An example would be the proper payment or penalty for hurting the neighbor’s ox or banging up their car. The moral law remains in full force and will forever stand. The Ten Commandments are a part of that.
We are subject to the law but we have Grace (Holy Spirit) to help us, and we have the Blood of Jesus. To hear some tell it, once you are saved you don’t need to be concerned about sin, it is all taken care of. Well, yes, and no. There is a remedy which is the Blood of Jesus but we have a part. Our part is to confess the sin. The following verse is for us not the world.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. The Lord is good, nothing but good and He cannot lie.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (Bold added)
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
